Whether race is involved or not its to his benefit in some aspect and to his detriment in others.

Frankly if you were a real supporter you'd put the race issue aside much like Obama has tried to and focus whether he'd be a good candidate or not.

I'm an Obama supporter and I do hate the skewed view points of some people on here that if you don't vote Obama it's implied that you're a racist.

I am going to step back a bit to explore the word racist in connection with minorities and specifically Black people in America.

I believe all people have the capacity for prejudice, but when we talk about race and politics and people say that Black people are racist because they are voting for Obama, I see real problems with that. Black people are not voting for Obama because they don't want to vote for Hillary because she is white. In fact, when Obama first entered the presidential race, Clinton was the preferred candidate for Blacks, and especially for Black women.

The fact that Black people have moved to Obama has less to do with the fact that he is Black and more to do with the fact that he is a viable candidate for the Democratic nomination. Once he won Iowa (which has an African American population of 2.5%, actually LOWER than West Virginia) the race was on. Does it help that he is Black? Of course, but Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will tell you (all day long) that being Black is not enough to get Black people to vote for you.

The opposite notion goes for the voters in West Virginia. You saw from the video that there are people that are life long Democrats who are voting for Clinton now simply because she is the only white Democrat left in the race. In fact, many in the video said that when there is no White Democrat left in the race, they will either stay home or vote for the only white person left on the ballot, John McCain. That is ignorance, hate, and racism plain and simple.

Are there some Black people that are just as prejudiced and ignorant against whites as the people seen in the video are towards Blacks? Of course. However, I am of the opinion that systematic racism like what we are witnessing in America is the combination of prejudice plus the authority that comes from membership in the majority to put power behind it. Therefore, I believe it is rare that Black people in America have the system behind them in order to really be racist.
