I know I'm a little late, but this movie was great. Much better than expected, and almost as funny as Something about Mary. What did you guys think ? ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."
I loved it. You could really feel for him in all those awkward situations. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
Good plot. Great on-screen chemistry. The deck was definitely stacked against him, lol. When I watch movies, I cover my eyes when someone is about to be embarassed or there is an awkward moment. Weird. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." I liked it but didn't find it funny so much as excrciating. That having been said, I love Stiller and DeNiro and they were awesome. I HATED Something About Mary, so I wouldn't really view this as similar. gr-8: Don't feel alone. We ALL do that! ------------------ "I swallowed a lot of agression...along with a lot of pizzas."
Why did you hate "There's Something about Mary"? I thought it was funny if a bit offensive at times. ------------------ Poopy!
I just felt it to be really uncomfortable and plain cruel at times. That's just me. ------------------ "I swallowed a lot of agression...along with a lot of pizzas."
I thought Something about Mary sucked too. Meet the Parents was awesome though. Took awhile for it to build up, but it was worth it. My fav part was the volleyball spike. ------------------ snap crackle pop
Was that Alan Alda that played Dr. Bob's dad ? He was great. Focker. LOL. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."
gr8-1: It's a joke with my friends how badly I do that. Sometimes I even walk out of the room when I've seen the movie before and I know what's coming... (I always do that in The Birdcage at one part). So you can breath easier now knowing that someone's even worse about it than you! ------------------ Boston College - Big East -East Division Regular Season Champs Worst to First in 2001!
Meet the Parents is a classic comedy--one of the few DVDs I wanted to buy. Smokes Something About Mary, IMO. I love watching comedy where somebody continually gets screwed--I'm a big George Costanza fan. ------------------ "There's a lot of things you can say about playing with Dream, but I get to say, `I played with the Dream.' Of course, what made "Meet the Parents" was the presence of the Greatness of Owen Wilson. (And, by the way, Dr. Bob's father was played by James Rebhorn. You might remember him from such films as "The Game" and "Independence Day".) ------------------ Houston Sports Board Help Finance My Movie - Buy A T-Shirt or Make a Donation
Amen! That guy is great, I'm looking forward to the next Wes Anderson/Owen Wilson collaboration. ------------------ www.swirve.com...The reason Al Gore invented the internet.
Was he the old boyfriend? That guy was hilarious. ------------------ "There's a lot of things you can say about playing with Dream, but I get to say, `I played with the Dream.' That speaks for itself." --Walt Williams "****!" --Kenny Thomas
Yes. Check out Bottle Rocket. He stars and co-wrote it with fellow Houstonaian and Texas-Ex Wes Anderson, along with Rushmore. ------------------ www.swirve.com...The reason Al Gore invented the internet.
People keep telling me to rent that. The couple of times I went to a video store recently, I couldn't find it. ------------------ "There's a lot of things you can say about playing with Dream, but I get to say, `I played with the Dream.' You have DVD don't you? Next ARA meeting I'll bring mine and you can borrow it. Speaking of which... ------------------ www.swirve.com...The reason Al Gore invented the internet.
