Byrne's performances in Troy and Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones brought her to the attention of the 007 production team of director Martin Campbell and long-time Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. They are expected confirm her in the role on Friday. Byrne has kept a low profile while catching up with friends in Bondi over the past month, revealing nothing of the Bond girl role. The only thing I've ever seen her in is Star Wars Episode II. She was Padme's handmaiden. The one who's crying as Padme's about to head off with Anakin. Not exactly a memorable role. But it is interesting how the handmaidens from those movies have gone on to have successful careers. First Keira Knightley and now Rose Byrne.
