I've been trying to avoid asking advice on here, because this is kind of weird and embarrassing, but I noticed a cyst-like sphere on the left side of my face above my chin right below the lip. Kind of near my jaw line and the corner of my lip. When I touch my mouth I can move it around, a marble-sized, 1/2 inch ball. You can't see it from outside or inside my mouth, it's just rollin' around in there. It's been about 3 days and it hasn't shrunk or anything. It doesn't hurt but bothers me because I can feel it against my teeth/gums. Has anyone ever had this? Should I be worried, or is it just a mouth-cyst that will go away? Thanks for the help.
Please...I'm serious about this. I keep looking it up and I can't seem to come up with search terms to find something similar.
This thread is useless without pictures. Literally. Does that cyst get bigger when you eat and decrease at other times? Is it inside your mouth? Your descriptions are kind of confusing. Post a picture of it otherwise it's hard to grasp what you're describing.
can you see it inside your mouth? it's odd you bring this up because i just developed one like a month or so ago. it's probably about 1/8th of an inch. i get canker sores sometimes and i thought it was that it first but it ended up developing a blister type thing that i eventually cut open to let the blood and liquid out to see if it would go away. well it bled just fine but then a cyst like thing formed and has just stayed there. i have tried popping it but it's too hard. it hasn't grown and is only visible from inside my mouth so i haven't thought about seeing a doc. i may go see one just to make sure it is nothing.
I have something similar only it is set back more underneath my jaw line. It is about the size of a pea, and gets very swollen when I am sick. I assume its a lymph node.
This one has just developed. I've never had anything like it before. I took a picture of my jaw to show you the location and size... I've been trying to avoid using the comparison, but it feels similar to a ball...in a sac, if ya know what I mean. That's how it feels. You can't even see it from the outside. And I tried to take pictures of inside my mouth but you can't see it at all from in there, either. I don't know. You can't see it, but when you feel it it rolls around. It never changes size and just feels kind of numb when i squeeze.
I've never heard of that. I agree go get it checked out. I would say it might be a ganglion cyst, because that's sort of how those feel (or like a pimple that won't bust) but I haven't ever had those that close to my mouth.. neck yes, but not near my mouth.
a half inch sounds pretty big...iono have u tried looking on webmd symptom checker? http://symptoms.webmd.com/symptomchecker maybe it'll help u get a better idea and u can match up what you have with something on there. nevertheless u should probably get it checked out
Get it checked out....this dude waited 3 years to get his mouth checked out and coulda died bc of it: http://www.newser.com/story/4718.html However he is in remission and his story in the New Yorker is pretty freaking badass: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/05/12/080512fa_fact_max?currentPage=all
If it's a little sore it might be a granuloma from a mouth ulcer, but that's a big fat guess. Since it has you worried, you should get it checked out because it'll bother you until you do.
I agree with everyone here and think you should go get it check by an oral surgeon, or at the very least your dentist. I had a little cyst near my tongue a few years ago and had to get it surgically removed. I was pretty terrified cause the doctor told me it could be cancer, but it turned out to be nothing to worry about. Better safe than sorry though.
that looks similar to what i have and it is in the same location. i am going to get it checked out by a doc just in case.
