Media bias against Houston?

All month with the rampant rumors of a Houston/Orlando deal the media had been rather reluctant to discuss this trade.

Rather than talk about Houston the media kept banging the idea of McGrady going to LA, San Antonio or in recent days wherever Shaq goes.

Does this prove without a shadow of a doubt a media bias against the Rockets?

The media just likes to speculate it is their job.

    What are you talking about??

All Ive been seeing the last few days on the front pages of CNNSI, ESPN and Foxsports has been about TMac to Houston.

In fact, Dan Patrick and the Jim Rome Show were talking about it when I was listening.

Yeah, this has been pissing me off too. I can't stand news from the TV bc it's always outdated bc we get things so quick here. But yeah, what the media covers shows what they want to have happen.

Dude, you know Houston doesn't get the respect from the national media. It's been like that since....forever. It's nothing new.

Ever since the story broke that McGrady said and was quoted that he didn't want to go to LA, didn't want to go to SA, he wanted to go to Houston but the media ignored it and said HE"S OGING TO LA OR SA.

It just pissed me off that I knew that a trade was going to happen but I couldn't any information since Sportscenter was hyping up the terrible franchises instead of the best one.

Definitely ESPN is guilty of this...I noticed it last night as well. I haven't heard one rumor (well maybe a stupid one) of T-Mac going to LAL and that was their lead story last night (after midnight). Not one, or maybe a faint reference to Rockets, just Shaq to Big-D or T-Mac to LAL.

The only reason I noticed was that for some reason the file (*cough*) that I was downloading was taking much too long.

Who cares what they think as long as the trade goes through?

ESPN has never given love to Houston. It's always LA, SA, NY, FL, or anywhere else. Hell, they would even give love to the Clippers rather than Houston.

Now that Clemens and Pettite has come to Houston, we have gained a tiny grain of respect. Now w/ McGrady coming, it might be more.....maybe.

The Rockets were generally picked to win it all in '96 as well...

Yeah, I think it's better that we remain out of the spotlight. Seen the Astros record lately?

So what? Why would we want their love? Pistons didn't have their love, but shut them up with their defence and their rings. We just need to play hard and better, beat the crap out of their darling. I would not mind if they hate us for that. For me, I would not cry for love from someone doesn't like me.
