I need to have a heater core replaced in my vehicle (1993 Ford Taurus). I am looking for a reliable mechanic that some of you may have used and been satisfied with. This is a meticulous job and I want it to be done carefully and correctly. I live in the Pasadena/Southeast Houston area and would prefer to have the work done close to home, but I would be willing to travel if it means I'll be happy with the mechanic and his work. Thanks for any help... P.S. -- Please, no Taurus jokes!
Mrs. JB and I have had good luck with Kelly Tires & Auto on 18th and TC Jester. Obviously, it is in town and not out by you. My father raves about a guy he uses for his ac/heat in cars that is down in south Houston near the Beltway. I can get his name/number for you if you are interested.
FYI - His name is David Hobbs and his number is 713-943-2628. My dad says he is great, reasonable and honest.
I thought I had clicked on the Where is A-Train thread and then I see you posting this dudes name and number. I was like, what the...., then I figured it out. The my dad says he is great really killed me.
there is a mechanic that did a good job on my g/f's car and one of my buddies seems to be happy with him also. I think the place is called Lam's. It is right by sagemont baptist church across the street from the church's fried chicken. Come to think of it the road might be Hughes Rd.
There is a great car mechanic in my neighborhood, near the intersection of Stella Link and Willowbend, called Darden's Automotive. My Dad has been using them for 20+ years and I have been using them since I moved back to Houston. Honest, reliable, & decent prices. They will tell you straight-up what is needed and why.
Bensons on Highway 3, just south of NASA Road 1. I'm not sure if they do that type of work...we've used them for about ten years now and have never had any problems with their work. STAY AWAY FROM GOODYEAR ON SKYWALKER IN CLEAR LAKE. They had very shotty worksmanship. And they are ultra-expensive.
