I've been looking to order some meat that i can just keep and take outa the freezer when i feel like. Does anyone have any experience with them? How is the quality? I've been looking at ones like crowd cow, something not SUPER expensive but still good quality

No experience with them, but this looks useful: https://www.foodandwine.com/lifestyle/kitchen/best-online-meat-delivery

eta: if you want to get wild, this is a great company with quality stuff. The owner's a friend so I thought I'd do a little advertising for him

One of my friends uses butcher box and really likes it. I just haven't gotten into that stuff since you have to order so much and I can never predict what protein I want eat that far out.

I use HolyGrail and Snake River Farms.

    I have 2 Tajima Ribeye
    40 oz upper prime porterhouse
    10 Tajima brisket burgers

coming this week for Easter via holy grail. Good piece of life advice is to spend 60-100 dollars per steak every once and awhile. Amazing difference.

A lot of BBQ joints use Snake River Farms, including Franklin BBQ. I have a Wild Fork opening up next to me that I'm waiting to try. They seem to get good reviews in Florida, but they also have an online site that ships.

Signed up for Wild Fork back in November and have done about 4-5 orders. Nice to have access to a variety of meats but it has been a bit of hit or miss overall. The prices are really reasonable though.

So far the A5 Wagyu Ribeye and thick cut short ribs have been the best buys. The Wagyu set me back $200 but will say it delivered. Also tried a few other cuts like Pichana, Florentine, duck breast and a rack of lamb. All were a bit disappointing, especially the duck and lamb since I can get it relatively easy around town. The lamb had a pretty thick fat cap on it, more so than the lamb from Costco.

I would not recommend buying seafood though. It’s pretty much buying from the freezer near the seafood counter at H‑E‑B.

Butcher Box promo code Burr (as in, Bill Burr) comes with 2 pounds free ground beef with each order, or something like that. He mentioned it in the podcast he posted today.

I heard there were some of the best steaks available only through the Sharper Image. But I haven’t tried it. Seemed sketch.

Also, depending on what you want and the amount of effort you're interested in, lots of local farms and ranches have gotten into the direct to consumer model, you'd have to do some google searching, call your local farmer's market(s) to see what vendors show up, facebook, and maybe your best bet would be to google and call your county's agricultural agent. It would take some local research and possibly a drive to meet up (see what I did there, huh?)
