MDA has to have a serious talk with Harden

    * Hoping this would be one of those reverse-jinx threads because I'm going to harp on Harden's game a little.

Despite our very good start, I cannot in good conscience say Harden is the MVP right now, because of the games like yesterday's. It's one thing to have just bad shooting night, but the manner in which he wastes precious possessions down the stretch with dumb turnovers and equally dumb iso plays really infuriates me. It looks like there are too many games where we win 'despite' Harden's poor performance, not because of him.

In my view, MDA has to have a serious talk with Harden wrt following things :

    1. Enough with the careless passes and turnovers. Make safe passes instead of trying to be creative or flashy.

    2. Enough with iso plays during clutch time, especially against elite perimeter defenders. Even Kobe or MJ can't pull that **** off consistently.

    3. Enough with jacking up contested 3s, or 3s in general. If your three point shot seems to be off, try more mid-range and drive to the basket hard.

The main theme here is 'don't force things too much.' If Harden corrects those three main issues, I think he could be a shoe-in candidate for this year's MVP since it seems like we're gonna win at least 55 games or more this season, which would far beyond exceed anyone's expectation. And Harden's defense has been passable at least up to now, which is all you can ask from Harden.

Lol I'll just say this. You might not want to start a thread that can pretty much become at the same level as "Beverley's defense is fraud" please relax

Lol, that thread seem to have worked in reverse-jinxy way, that's why I made this one, and to be fair a lot of people share the same concerns.

He is shooting a career low in 3pt % (while taking a career high number of 3s per game) and will smash the turnover record by a much larger margin than the broke it last year.

I think it just stems from the higher weight he's been playing at.

I actually tend to agree with the premise of this thread. Yes Harden has been great this year in general, but down the stretch he has made generally poor decisions, especially when compared with the decisions he generally makes throughout the rest of the game.

Its a minor nitpick in the general scheme of things, but he should trust his teammates more in the last two minutes. This year though, the results have generally been there so this is a difficult argument to make, but I worry that when we get to the playoffs that bad decision making may cost us critical games.

In regards to shooting yes, but Roberson effect doesn't explain those careless turnovers, and a lot of them came during crucial moments late in the 4Q

Considering MDA countered Donovan's small ball lineup with Anderson at C and Ariza at PF plus 3 guards as well as calling off all pick and rolls It's safe to say he wanted Harden to go one and one and take his man off the dribble ( wich resulted in James line drives to the basket in multiple positions). Let's face it MDA outcoached Donovan last night. Donovan went small so a big would'nt get stuck with James on the pick and roll and MDA countered by spreading the floor and waving off pick and rolls so Harden wouldn't have to deal with 2 quick defenders. He doesn't have to talk with Harden for anything that was all D'antoni owning Donovan down the stretch last night.

I have been called a Harden hater for many times by some idiots here because they can't identify what are the facts and what not.

However, not only your post is far from the truth, but it's even worse that what those Harden only fans.

When you only focus on the result but ignoring the process, you will not understand the facts.

But you don't need to go to Harden every time, what about Gordon?

Not about being homers. It's actually a shame people have to result to that to try and sell their agenda. People here want to complain and criticize every little thing in order to mold their own perfect player. Well that's never going to exist. Again relax a bit
