Certain bands have been known to have farewell tours every year. I have no doubt this will end up the same way. It's probably just a very creative way to scare you into buying more.

(though good riddance if it did disappear, IMO... real ribs have bones in them.)

The McRib is the only think McDonald's had going for them. It's a sad day.

'bout damn time they got rid of the McRib...most overrated fast food item ever. It's basically all the meat that fails to meet SPAM's stringent quality control standards pressed into a patty and drenched in terrible BBQ sauce.

Where the heck is Jack in the Box's Philly Cheesesteak?

There is a "Save the McRib" link on the site. Just fill in the fields and submit.

The McRib, in my opinion, is nothing but a processed piece of grossness with bbq sauce on it. Good riddance! It may actually save lives by retiring this beast.

The McRib farewell tour has been going on for about 6 years. They bring it back for a month or two then they discontinue it only to bring it back a year or so later. It is a never ending cycle. The "Farewell Tour" designation is just an unclever marketing ploy to trick you into buying it. If you want a discontinued McRib go to Sams. They sell them by the case in the frozen food section under the title Rib Meat sandwich or Pork riblette sandwich. Just get a few packs of McD's BBQ nugget sauce and pour it on.

    OH...come on!

It's not the same thing. It would then be missing the extra 100 chemicals that McDonald's puts in their version to arrive at that distinctive rib taste.

Your solution is not fooling anybody! :p

Funny thing is when you pour all the BBQ sauce on it you'll never tell the difference. They actually have Ribwich day in our school cafeteria. It is one of the most popular items they sell.

Looks like McDonald's is copying some of Burger King's quirky marketing.

Damn, I thought we agreed on everything fast food. You made me re-evaluate my whole stance on Quizno's when I tried their steak sandwich because of one of your posts. Now I find out you don't like the McRib. My whole fast food foundation is shaken.

Wow, I had no idea I had so much influence on people. :D

The McRib used to actually be decent, but it's terrible now...I guess they had to increase the sawdust content to save costs due to rising pork prices...
