McKie used to be a fine all-around role player. A lot like Mario Elie, pretty well built and relatively athletic 6'5" swingman who could hit the open 3 and do most the little things well, as was a good character guy.

But last year he was a flat zero. The year right before he was still moderately productive. Anyone know anything about whether there was extenuating circumstances last year (injuries that have healed) or is the guy just done at 32?

If he can just return to the form before last season he is exactly the right kind of guy the Rockets should look at as a back-up SF and alternative bigger/defensive minded SG.

Billy King should be an amnesty cut.

It's true. He's made a lot of crappy players wealthy.

In BK's favor, his trades and drafts are usually quite good... But he does offer guys some pretty insane contracts.

I would pass on mckie. when we got ward it was the same story. he had a good productive year like he's had for most of his career, then came a season of injury and zero production. we got him a after that year and look at how that turned out. he hit one big shot in preseason.

I am sure McKie will end up being a nice bench role player for a contending/playoff team.
