no switching on the last play. clearly tells them to stay with their man. <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/wNgf_-Yqu9c?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/wNgf_-Yqu9c?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/wNgf_-Yqu9c" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
But then Harden ignoring what McHale said, tells them to switch leading to confusion. As Bev and Parsons stand there trying to decide if they should listen to McHale or Harden Lillard takes off and the rest is history. http://www.mobypicture.com/user/TomMartinKATC/view/16856780
I was in the barbershop in the morning. This was the topic. That you could clearly hear "stay with your man" some said it was the refs. I guess it was McHale
That's not the proper defense for a 1-sec catch-and-shoot. Once the pass was released, the player closest to the spot where the pass was headed should immediately bolt to it (Lin was the best defender on the team in that regard.) The defenders should also be moving, to avoid getting screened. And have an eye on the PASSER. (Harden had no idea the ball was thrown in, and ended up being a spectator.) There should have been no sideline defender. (TJones was a total spectator.) He should have been a free man at the top of the lane bolting to the spot of the shot once the pass was released. To make things worse, the sideline defender wasn't even in a good position to deflect a pass or shield the passer's field of vision.
i posted an old embed link and a new one bc the post preview showed blank, i was hoping one would at least show up, and the both did, oh well lol
We went through this before. Hot 3-point shooter, a few seconds left....AND YOU SWITCH! Observe: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/CzUv5_YFhPI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
it's especially disappointing since we switched a pick and roll on their previous basket, putting howard on batum and harden on aldridge. had batum missed, aldridge gets an easy board and put back. then when they should switch, they don't.
