I've been watching the Rockets for a very long time. And the Rockets have had some great shooters. But I have never seen a shooter like McGrady. Not only can he hit a shot from seemingly anywhere on the court -- no matter who is guarding him -- but he also does this consistently virtually every night. At some point in the game, McGrady just turns it on and then can't stop hitting basket after basket. I find myself laughing as the level of difficulty of his shots just seems to grow and grow. Watching a season of McGrady is like watching Vernon Maxwell's hottest game of all time -- over and over again -- except that McGrady is more athletic and takes it to the hole even better. I don't know if McGrady is the greatest Rocket ever. It's hard to compare big men like Malone and Hakeem to McGrady. And McGrady hasn't won any championships like Hakeem. And this is only McGrady's first year with the club. But damn if he isn't the best player I've seen in a really long time. And it would not surprise me at all if a couple years down the road we are all saying that he is the greatest Rocket ever.
No kidding. I always knew he was good. But I never knew how good he was until we got him. I can sit there for hours watching the videos that R2K makes watching McGrady make shot after shot. Truly a sight to behold.
This just in: tod the bod is planning on giving birth to Tracy McGrady's baby. Film at 11. (just messin' with ya. I'm amazed by T-Mac, too) -- droxford
I totally agree tod. I mentioned this in the jordan thread a few days ago. I honestly believe he is the greatest perimeter player I've ever seen. The guy single handedly put the Denver game out of reach early in the third quarter. Amazing!
He's awesome. I really think and envision him taking over in the playoffs. He is capable of doing it..hopefully he's not injured or anything. Videos of Tmac in past playoffs games..crazy! And Yao too! I can't wait I hope we do well
