People say that Tmac has lost his first step and all his quickness and agility. I completely disagree. Through his decline, he has definatly lost the abiliy to rise above his defende which has led to a much flatter and less accurate jumper, but by no means has he lost the abilityto blow past hs defender with ease.

Now it is just getting annoying though. Its getting more and more obvious with every game, et he still pull up for his jumpers. In todays game alone, he is 3/3 going to the hole and 0/3 when he pulls up for his jumpers.

His first step is still money people! He jus doesnt use it enough. :(

His first step + ability to get to the basket/draw contact is so important. Yeah maybe he's gotten away with his jump shooting because the talent around him sucked. And maybe jump shooting was an excuse to save his legs.

But now that the team is surrounded by more shooters (barry, brooks, battier, artest, rafer....hahah ok well you get the point) he has no excuse to take stupid jumpers.

Impose your will, get to the basket, burn your man, I don't care, just be effective. I agree, he's still got his first step, he just needs to get back to driving it in, every damn opportunity.

He's seemed to have lost his handles though.

He doesnt need them because he is still so explosive. Again in this second half, he has shown it. He is just blowin pst his defenders at will. Its frustrating because this is the facet of his game which he is still great at. His jumper on the other hand is very inconsistant and often off the mark.

Tonight, he's playing against soft defenders who are getting up close to him and won't hit him when he attacks. It's like they are inviting him to waltz to the basket. The Blazers wingmen should wear skirts.

In contrast, the Jazz are the opposite. They invite Tracy to drive so they can get physica and beat on him.

    **** **$@_%(*@#$_(#!@*$ @#$)_(*@#_$(@#*$_(#@*#@

    /end rant

this is hard to watch :(

anyone who still wants to trade BATTIER, i hope your eyes are open now on how badly we need him. Hayes seems to be doing alot better job on aldridge or aldridge just cooled off, the annoying thing with portland though basically they have 5+ players who can get hot REAL quick for a short burst, outlaw, aldridge, roy, FERNANDEZ, and solid consistent shooters like frye, blake, argh.............. right now our most potent offensive weapon is tmac??? thats about it... really need others to step up, artest/yao/brooks cmon!

yeah, but yao is fukin killing us cause he cant catch the ball or rebound or take it in strong i dont know whats wrong with him

this is supposed to be yaos peak but in truth he peaked the second half of 2 seasons ago when he got back from injury and was a monster

its all mental with yao and because of his mental softness rox will never go to championship like when dream was here I GUARANTEE IT :(

STFU. It was a team loss. Dont try to pin it on a single player.

tmac, definitely was butter. he, almost by himself, kept the rocks in the game.

i do get frustrated when yoa fumbles his catched passes, or gets stripped seemingly so easily among other things. but, yao mae that so so clutch shot.

hell of a game. rocks should have won, but, i have patience to wait until the eam s 25/30 games in to see what they can do. and, who knows, the rockets may be hottest team a month or 2 from now.

    i ain't worried.

T-Mac had a great game tonight. I was very pleased with his performance except for the final possession on defense. I mean what was that? He let Roy have a huge headstart. Roy was was way out but he had all the time in the world to take a a clear look at the basket. That's the only bad thing to say about T-Mac tonight.

Why are you writing in red? It's hard to read.

McGrady's first step is still great, but I wish he would take it in more. When he settles down for jumpers thats when our offense goes downhill.

He still settles for jump shots way too much.

If T-Mac's first step is money, then he should get a lot of blame for the loss tonight. He didn't attack the basket in crunch time.

Hatin on T-Mac. The man had 20+ points in the second half and was the reason we were even in this game. He was the best player on the floor the whole game! How about trashing more deserving players like Artest or Yao. They definently havnt been helping this team the last two games. It makes me sick to see people hate on Tracy when he plays like he did tonight.

    True that. BUT...

What option does he have? He was iso-ed 1 on 1 with (i think) Aldridge. Yao missed a wide open jumper before that. He drives in and kicks it to who? Landry doesn't have enough range to spread the floor out (he has some range, but not enough in that stituation). Brooks and Artest are camped but guarded.

If T-Mac was feeling it even a little, I don't think that was a bad shot. That's not any bias talking. If he takes it in, the defense collapses but you don't have a reliable option (Ron/Yao played terrible until that point, Landry won't be far enough out, Brooks covered is only option).

Maybe he could have drove in the play before that. In fact he should have, however I think he the shot with :10 left to go wasn't a bad one.
