Looks that both Yao and TMAC will miss media day. What a bad start for Rockets. http://www.khou.com/sports/stories/khou070928_cc_mcgradymediaday.11b305f7b.html
Well for TMAC, it's understandable that he has to be at the funeral of his grandfather. For Yao Ming, he has also to be at the opening ceremony of the Special Olympic in Shanghai in his dual capacity as the official image spokesperson for the Shanghai Municipality and Special Olympic.
The death of a grandfather of a 27 year old man ...doesn't really fall in the same category as the others. Seriously, we all gotta go sometime. I'm 34 and don't have any grandparents left including both step grandparents. So I've lost 6 grandparents.
Sorry for his loss. In a way, I'm kinda glad because it will allow everyone to focus on new players and there are a ton of them.
Wasn't last year the only NBA season that Mac didn't lose anyone? I know his wife's mother past away in Feb of 2006, but in the '06 - '07 season, Mac didn't lose anyone in the family did he?
You almost always have a positive view on things here, Jeff. I always intended to mention how much I enjoy that. Thanks.
stuff happens...who cares if Tmac misses media day?...what counts is when the season starts...CAN'T WAIT!
i'm sure they'll get some media pictures of yao/tracy/etc. at a later time. as a fan i always get excited for media day to see all the new guys together, but it's meaningless other than that. like jeff said, it'll give more press to the new people.
The point is that Mac has had someone related to him die every single season of his career. That's some freaky mojo right there.
Come on very bad start That's not a start But that's really understandable, family is more important.
