Was listening to 790... In case anyone didn't hear, T-Mac is at 80% on the knee and has arthritis in his shoulder.
I read a few ago that he had some minor lingering pain, but it wasn't anything he felt he couldn't play with. I guess when I read anything like that coming from the Rockets, I should assume it's worse than it sounds.
80% is not bad. He hasn't played a single game after he got surgery. I don't think he can claim he is 100% now.
I'm sure he'll be ok. I rather have this problem than his back. Nothing has been wrong with that for a while.
im assuming its the same pain he played with when he dropped 40pts in the playoffs? if so, im not too concerned. we have more depth now to the point where he doesnt need to go out every night and score 20pts to give us a chance to win.
After surgery 4 months ago he's 80%. 20% per month. One more month till the season begins...... do the math. Trying to be optimistic here
Let's not go overboard here now with this statement. Now if they say he's sitting out for a few months then be worried.
McGrady is notoriously optimistic heading into a new season. If he says he's 80%, I'd wager it's more like 60%, or worse.
It's safer to be a little pessimistic than to be optimistic with McGrady. That way, you don't get too bummed if he gets injured. In this case, though, I'm sure he's not hurting too much, since he's been scrimmaging with Crazy Pills and Dorsey, and the Rockets org doesn't seem to be too concerned. If it really is something bad, then they would make him sit out the preseason, like they did with Battier. That thing about arthritis scares me a bit though, will it bother him from now on?
Well he has been practicing with that and as Morey said it is nothing major. he should be 100% by the start of the season. I am sure he will be fine.
