We all know hes hurting and all but which option would you choose? 1) His knee will be 100% if he misses the first month so should we shut him down for the month? 2) Limit his minutes while hes playing during the first month and increase while its getting better 3) Let him get surgery for his shoulder, this I believe will make him comeback during the all-star break. We have a lot of depth and might be able to survive without him for just those 3-4 months. Discuss.
2) Limit his minutes while hes playing during the first month and increase while its getting better. His injury is not too bad
I think we should do #1 especially how fragile he is. But that shoulder may effect him in the long run so i have no clue
Reduce his minutes to 28 to 30 a night. even bringing him off the bench should be an option to keep him fresh for the playoffs. Alston Artest Battier Scola yao Bench McGrady Barry Battier brooks Hayes landry That would be a killer 2nd unit
option 2 or 3. We shouldn't be worried about our record as long as we clinch right? Doing 3 we should have no problem making the final 8 (w) and T should be more then fresh. But honestly I wanted less minutes for YnT together with an occasional day off. I would rather have less wins but a fresher all star status in the PO's.
I say just make him get the surgery. I'd rather have him back at 100 percent after the all star break and have a full on push towards a championship. I am tired of the excuses. Unless the surgery means he can't play the whole season I say just get it done.
It doesn't sound like 3. is an option McGrady and the organization are anywhere near to, so I hope they just do 2 in the meanwhile. And I do think it is important for the Rockets to get a top 3 seed. This year won't be like last year: seeds 6-8 will be significantly worse than the top 5 (Houston LA Utah and then two of San Antonio New Orleans and Phoenix depending on injuries). And we'll need that confidence boost to go far in the playoffs; the only team that could win it all from seed 6 were the defending champions from the year before.
agreed. that last thing we need is to hear as the playoffs approach is how his knee or shoulder will seriously hinder him. i want him to get his health up to par then limit his minutes to around 28-32 a game once he's back. weather or not the season is successful i think its in the rockets best interest to start looking at trade possibilities.
Limiting his minutes and keeping him as a 6th man is ideal if his shoulder isnt bugging him that much but if he can have surgery that would be better because he is risking long term damage to a very vital part of the body used in the sport. With a bad shoulder you cant shoot or dribble effectively. If he were to have the surgery now it depends on what it is on, so far he said its arthiritic so that means joints and depending on the ligament or w/e it is maybe or the gleno joint it could take up to 6 months to heal and thats just heal, that doesnt include stregnth and conditioning. basically if he has the surgery he would be out of it if he returned to play and he might as well sit out. going to medical school so this is quite interesting to see what he really has
You are one sad and pathetic individual. I can't being to comprehend how you can hate one of the best players on your team as much as you do.
