McGrady could have played his last game as a Rocket

You-know-who could have played the last game as a Rocket

Ok, i know this is a touchy subject, especially in the midst of Rockets blowout.

But I cannot help since I cannot wait to get something in return.

Avery Johnson said this, i don't know how credible a source he is.

But here is the link: (on the right side of page, the second paragraph)
    http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...ops_news_annual_regularseason_nba_awards.html

The playoffs just aren't the same without Tracy McGrady trying to get out of the first round. McGrady has tried and failed seven times to get out of the first round. Now, there's a question whether he'll be able to come back from another injury-plagued season. "Possibly with his health situation, he might not be able to play anymore," said former Mavs coach Avery Johnson, now with ESPN. "Maybe his body can't hold up anymore on this level." If McGrady returns, Johnson sees him moving to another team. "Even though he's owed $22 million (actually $23.2 mil), I don't see him suiting up again in Houston. That deal has run its course."

Please lock it up if posted somewhere.

he's saying what everyone already knows. but some people still think he's coming back healthy next year... the bob sura syndrome.

if the rockets can't get out of the first round this year then i think they hold on to his contract and look to rebuild in 2010. if they do get out of the first round then they trade his ending contract for talent and make a push at the finals.

i don't think this is a secret anymore. anyone with half the brain would be able to guess this coming.

Tmac isn't back until at least next year's all-star. not to mention his condition would take another few months to get into game-shape. By then we would pretty much made it to the playoffs without much of tmac input. do you still think the team would need him?

we all saw what happened to steve franchise, Tmac is the same.

Will a team then hold on to a 29-30 yr old 23 mil player and gamble his return? Then, how long do you think that player has left in his tank?

Not to mention the biggest FA in that summer. If you think the draft class of that year was big, the summer is even bigger.

Rockets has everything on their side to make the biggest splash. Don't know if anyone know this but we got everything possibily on our side to land a marquee player.

-Location - Texas property tax free
-Team - we have a team that can go into the playoffs without a 23mil dollars player. How many teams can say that?

-GM - one of the best, smart GM who can build a team without going over the cap.

-we have 23mil off the book, without losing any productions. Cavs can do that but would they be able to do so without losing much of their current roster?

-Biggest Market in China - which other team can pentrate the Chinese market as well as playing alongside Yao? Hayes even got a sneakers deal.

If I were Morey. Wade and Lebron would be the two most go after FA. Chances are we would land Wade way better than Lebron. Getting lebron is like getting chances of landing Kobe.

However there is rumor that a multi billion chinese business man has invested heavily into Cavs and could take over the ownership if needed. Which he has close ties with Les too. where rumor that Yao would be leaving rockets to Cavs. Which i doubt that, and lebron coming over would be very small too.

I can add a bit to this, and I know I am probably going to get torched but oh well. I never post things like this, and I have been on this board for 10 years. One of my business partners is very good friends with an assistant coach, ,and they have a very long history. Anyway, I was told that basically TMac is as good as gone next year. Also, another thing was that there was an understanding communicated during the last 10 games of the season that if they did not get past the first round, there will be all new coaching staff. I was a bit shocked to hear that, but I took that as the Rockets Organization is seeing that our windows of opportunity is closing and we need to make everything count right now. Personally I felt that Adelman has worked magic with this lineup and has been great.

i had a feeling they'd fire the staff, there's no reason why they shouldnt los ein the first round again, even without tmac they have all the pieces, just need to fit them together.

If Tmac comes back mid season, how is it any different than '95 when Drexler came midseason? In the most optimistic scenario: if we win a championship (like '94), Tmac can still come back and ignite another (like '95).

I believe to collect on the contract insurance Tmac would have to be out all of next season. If that happens his best value might be as an expiring contract for Houston.

Jeff Gillooly was recently seen leaving Les's office.

That would be a mistake to get rid of Adelman unless there is something better out there....and right now, who?

So, let's just hope the team gets out of the first round.....at least.

But did anyone else notice that Adelman was calling more plays last night?

    LOL.

The scary thing is that although AJ sucks as a commentator, he's even worse as a coach.

Let me play opposite and let you see how this is going to turn out. I'll use Wade since you brought him up. Wade is the king of miami, already have a ring. He is the king of his team and he plays in the east. Florida has great weather, hot women, and no state tax. when wade is a free agent, bosh and amare will also. They will have cap room to sign one of those guys also. If you're wade , why leace the city that you're king of with a better social scene and can win the the help of bosh or come to houston where people will say its yao's team and a guy that slows your game up na d has had injury issues? If you were wade, what would you do?

Tmac is done by Avery Johnson

May admin please delete this if anyone has posted it before. I don't want to open a new thread but I do really want to know what's going on with Tmac. Would anybody please comment this.

Here is what New York Daily News exactly said.

The playoffs just aren't the same without Tracy McGrady trying to get out of the first round. McGrady has tried and failed seven times to get out of the first round. Now, there's a question whether he'll be able to come back from another injury-plagued season. Is AJ a bullshxt commentator or something? Did he just say what he knew? It's like Tmac's career is over and Rockets want to get rid of him.

He was using words like maybe and possibly making it obvious that it was complete opinion and not backed up by any insider info. Its a good point though. TMac can't stay healthy whatsover anymore and may, with this twig body, not be able to withstand the wear and tear of the NBA anymore. No way does TMac walk away after this year, especially with 23.2 million owed. However if he gets hurt next year again and teams don't offer him what he thinks he's worth in free agency I could see him just calling it quits saying he wants to be able to walk in old age.

The same could have been said this time last year about Yao.
