Just heard on the Best Damn Sports Show that McGrady plans to opt out of his contract and possible teams he would be interested in:

    1. Phoenix
    2. Rockets
    3. Lakers
    4. San Antonio

Could this be a possibility? Yall think he could be the final piece that would get us to the next level?
    Shaq & Kobe = Yao & McGrady.

I would love to see him in a Rockets Uni.

looks like the talk about T-mac wanting to be the man can be put to rest. He realizes now, after wanting (and getting) his own team, that nobody can do it by themselves.

look at the teams that are listed. All of them have a dominant big man.

LA can forget about him unless kobe decides he wants to go to Orlando.

SA may be mad enough to give up a lot to get him. and we already know that Phoenix made a couple of offers already.

who's a dominant big man on Phoenix?

i'll be happy if he is kept out of San Antonio. TMac + Duncan? the rest of the league can forget about it for the next five years.

That's a realistic fear, because he originally signed in Orlando in part because he thought Duncan was going there ( with Hill).

Now more then ever I hope the Rockets can somehow get Mcgrady. Not only because he would be a great addition, but to prevent him from going to any of those other Western conference teams. If the Lakers, Spurs, or Suns (assuming not too much is given for Mcgrady) can somehow get Mcgrady, it's going to be awfully difficult for the Rockets to compete.

That would be a tempting offer, but all of those three would not solve there biggest problem. Theyre biggest weakness was the lack of thoughness on their frontline and I would see Orlando asking for for Rasho also. Problem with Rasho is that he doesnt seem very tough and has a contract running to the 08/09 season.

I can see Ginobili getting a MLE type contract, but not much more since he is already 27 years and fairly inconsistant, as is parker. So would an offer of Rasho + Ginobili (if he doesnt bolt to another team when he hears hes goin to get traded) + Hedo(same as Gino) + Parker enough to get tmac? It could but SA doesnt have enough contracts to absorb Hills contract, unless they send off everyone on their roster, which surely orlando will be looking to shipoff.

Would an offer of Steve + Cat + Cato be better then what SA can offer. Its arguable that the trade is almost equal since you can say steve and cat are just as good as parker and ginobili or better. SF would put seats in orlando and i doubt parker would. Combined with the trade exception we could take Hills contract.

Id say our offer is better then SA's since we can take Hills contract and night in and night out Francis will be more consistant then parker, not to mention SF will be able to generate more money for them, But parker is alot younger. The question is will Les be willing to pay Hill if he cant play?

Phoenix....whats the deal with wanting to be in Phoenix? I hope he realizes that if he goes to Phoenix either Marion or Amare will take his place in orlando.

exactly...tmac + amare in the west = first round exit every year. if he's serious about winning, he comes to H-Town to play with Yao.

I think phoenix just wants to trade orlando marion straight up and maybe their number one. Phoneix seems pretty intent on keeping Joe Johnson.

A trade of T-Mac for JJ, Marion + 2004 1st pick makes a lot of sense for both teams.

A team of Amare and T-Mac just needs one more player to be challengers and the Magic would get a very talented young starting five with JJ, Marion and maybe Okafor/Howard and a Euro 5. This trade could go down as soon as right after the lottery order have been set.

This is, I think, is the most likely scenario. Also, I wouldn't dismiss Detroit who can offer something like Rip, Tayshaun and Darko.
