OK, didn't want to start a new thread, but did anyone watch The Simpsons last night? What did Homer say after he hate the ad that was on the screen? It was "mmmmmm...something". And, I love McDonalds.
All McDonald's knows is McHeart-Disease, McCholesterol, and McHeartAttack. You think offering a piddling McSalad and McFruit is going to stop people from eating burgers and fries? Given the choice, many people will always choose wrong. Then, they will sue claiming they had no idea what they were eating was so bad. They thought they could sustain themselves their whole lives on Big Macs and super-sized Fries.
"mmmmm Promo" then he yacked it up and said "Uhhh Fox!" McDonalds has the world's best fries. But I would rather have BK, Whataburger or Sonic for a good hamburger. I would probably choose Wendy's over McDonalds also.
I actually prefer the Wendy's fries to McDonald's, and What-A-Burger's fries to either of those (especially with their ketchup).
Oh My GOD!! My wife gets grossed out when I eat the Whataburger ketchup by itself. That is the best ketchup in the world. My mouth is watering now thinking about it. I think I know what I am having for dinner tonight.
McD's=crap. Bottomline. Give me Wendy's, Jack in a Box, Whataburger, even Burger King before I eat there. I love the Chicken Pitas, Chili Cheese Fries or Seasoned Curly Fries at Jack in a Box, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich combo, plus a big bacon classic at Wendy's. The nuggets are good too. Whataburger is pure goodness, just not enough of them, and the BK Whopper at Burger King is solid. Though Wendys and Jack in a Box are my clear favorites. Except for Chipotle, that place rules .
You forgot James Coney Island, Chick-File (sp?), Quiznos, Subway, Taco Bell, Arby's (solid market fresh sandwhiches to compliment to old school roast beefs)...the list goes on. McDonalds is at the very end, imo.
Yep, Jay-Z I would eat at a number of places before I ever step inside a Mcdonalds anymore. After being at UT two years 1. Chipotle, no contest. 2. Chick Fila 3. Wendy's 4. JIB 5/6-Subway/Quiznos-I like Quiznos, just inconvenient for me to get to. 7. Taco Bell

You know that Grilled Chicken Flatbread sandwich is pretty good at McD's. But at 520 calories, it ain't low fat. God I miss Whataburger. Last time I went to one was when i drove through Tallahassee last Winter Break (same day Florida State upset Duke). I actually wrote to Whatburger Corporation inquiring about franchises. They sent me a letter back within a week saying that I could own a franchise if I had an anual income of at least $500,000 and could pay $250,000 up front. Needless to say, there still isn't one in my town yet, although there are more and more across Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida every few months.
McDonalds food just disgusts me greatly. Their fries are horrible, They are limper than Bob Dole on weed and salty as all hell, and Burgers for the most part are sloppy pieces of crud. Give me the Western Whopper from Burger King, or an In-N-Out Double Double. As for fries, I'll take JITB curly fries over anything else.
The company(Chipotle) was started before McDonalds ever got a hold of it. They bought it after it was profitable. And that doesn't mean I support or like McDonalds, because they might run the company, the menu is from the original guy himself. And McDonalds the hamburger joint is still crap. Just because they have business savvy, doesn't mean they have put a mega imprint on the company, because it sure isn't McDonalds quality food. But yes I know they run the place I adore, and it doesnt change my feelings about their hamburger joints, either. Drew, I have had freebirds. I prefer the taste of Chipotle, sorry. Freebirds is good too. I've also had Thundercloud before, and they were good, but I do not prefer them over Subway or Quiznos. I eat what I like, not because its commercialized or whatever. And I did not learn of Chipotle being a MCd's corporation until after I tasted the food, which still rules. I love the barbacoa. Conan's I had never heard of until you mentioned it, usually if I order in pizza, its from a local Pizza Hut.
