I look forward to “religious freedom” being codified as reason to discriminate.

    It’s what Jesus would do.

Harry Reid used the nuclear option in 2013 for some of Obama’s lower-court appointees.

And as usual, and very child-like, the rethuglicans have taken something they thought wrong, and expanded it to get their way...

And as I said, he took something he thought wrong (Democrats using "nuclear option on lower court appointees in response to republicans blocking Obama appointees) then used it to get kavanaugh (the first time used on a USSC); and now again to get trump's judges and political appointees approved. Despite the fact that republicans used cloture to block more of Obama's appointees.

Again, mcconnell can point the finger elsewhere, but he is more guilty of doing the thing he claimed was wrong. Since destroying civility in congress and destroying institutions like the court system and government has been an objective (and apparently, desired goal) of trump supporters, this latest example doesn't bother republicans. But they won't always control the senate, and they won't always control the executive branch.

Oh I’m sure mr sanctity of the Senate Mitch McConnell wouid have totally stuck with norms if only Harry Reid hadn’t used this option in the past.

Glad Harry Reid did and I’ll be glad when a new Dem Senate and Presidency do it in the future. We have a fully weaponized partisan minority view judiciary now because of McConnell. Never forget who put Gorsuch and Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court has never forget how they did it.

If the Dems laid down and play fair in the future the US court system will no longer represent the full objective view of the constitution from all sides. Instead it will solely be held by at best 40% of the country working soley for one party currently with an authoritarian wanna be dictator president.

No one would know what obstruction looks like more than McConnell.

lol, you miss the point. Harry Reid started this, not McConnell. McConnell basically told them they would regret it if they used it. Now they regret it. Don't blame McConnell for using the same thing the other party started. You should be mad at Harry Reid for setting the precedent.

Repeating the same thing again. We know the history. We also point out the hypocrisy of the turtle defending his use of the very same thing he complained about. In fact, he doubled down on it by using it on a supreme court justice. And now to push even more of trump's nominees. All the while complaining on Democrats use of closure when republicans used cloture to block even more of Obama's nominees. And of course, not even having a vote for Merrick Garland.

So post again about Reid all you want, but mcconnell continues to diminish the senate through his petty and partisan actions.

In the clip I posted the turtle clearly warned the Democrats that if they used the nuclear option that they would regret it. He was saying that once the Democrats used it it then the Republicans would be using it too. McConnell did not set the precedent, Reid did. You can call it hypocrisy all you want but it does not change who started all of this. McConnell issued a warning that he would use it too if Democrats did, and just followed through once the Democrats set the precedent.

Republicans dick around with approving nominees
Democrats say **** it and Harry Reid changes the rules
Democrats dick around with approving nominees
    Republicans say **** it

Part of the problem with politicians? Neither is usually willing to do the right thing because they are always trying to get revenge on each other.

Seriously, Mitch is the biggest obstructionist in the history of the Senate - promising they would oppose everything to make Obama a 1 term president. Party over country

The bigger point is that the GOP won't hold power forever. This is the precedent now, you applaud it now so don't whine about it later.

They'll whine and blow up slights as symbolic disasters.

Why was that? Oh right, the unprecedented obstruction of Republicans trying to derail an Obama presidency because he was born in Kenya.
