I don't even really have one personally, but I'm interested to hear who others here think he'll pick.

I'll get the ball rolling by going out on a crazy limb:

    Kay Bailey Hutchison.

I don't really think it's gonna be her but I don't know who to pick. Who's your pick?

Pawlenty is the guess, Rice is the preference.

    Probably Pawlenty.

I hope it's a woman. Either Hutchison, Palin, or Meg Whitman(I heard someone on TV mention her as a possibility a short while ago).

I'd like him to pick a Latino, obviously, but would be very happy with Pawlenty or Romney. Cantor would be a great choice as well.

Is it true that the family used to spell their name Pshawlenty?

    more Pawlenty chatter

[rquoter]I'm confident enough to put this up now, but willing to be wrong.

Right now though, every sign, signal, and background chatter indicates John McCain will pick Tim Pawlenty, Minnesota's governor, as his running mate.

UPDATE: A source close to the campaign now confirms for me that it "more likely than not" is Pawlenty. He does, however, caution me that the campaign does not actually want to leak tonight lest the Obama camp get too much of a chance to play the victim card with a sympathetic media.[/rquoter]

oh, and i think there's an implicit "**** you batman" in the last sentence.

This is a strong signal that McCain is very confident that he doesn't need Romney's help in key states (CO, NV, MI) to win the race. Choosing Pawlenty is a bold move by McCain. Very bold. It probably suggests that there is a bombshell out there on Obama that will take him down.

Too confident is never a good thing, he needs every single vote.

By the time you posted this they'd already come on the news locally and said she'd dropped out of the running.

She's eying the Texas Governor position

My pick is Michael Steele... or T. Boone Pickens. :)

It's almost definitely Pawlenty. Not sure what he primarily brings to the table, but then again, I'm not terribly familiar with him. rocketsjudoca - if you're around, what do you think of Pawlenty?

There is absolutely no doubt the VP pick is Lieberman.
