    Great thread Faos.

You should look up John McCain and Barack Obama on IMDB.com. It’s really interesting to see how many times John has been on TV and film compared to Barack.

    as told by ABC news:

    ------
“Tropical Storm Fay has soaked Florida ... ruining thousands of homes, most of them belonging to John McCain,” Leno said during his monologue. “In fact, to make Sen. McCain feel at home tonight, I gave him 7 dressing rooms.”

After their opening segment together on the stage, Leno came back from a commercial break to ask McCain, “For $1 million, how many houses do you have?”

McCain answered by first citing his time as a POW in Vietnam.

“Could I just mention to you, Jay, that, at a moment of seriousness,” McCain began, “I spent five-and-a-half years in a prison cell. I didn't have a house. I didn't have a kitchen table. I didn't have a table. I didn't have a chair. And I didn't spend those five-and-a-half years because, not because I wanted to get a house when I got out.

“We spend our time in a condominium in Washington, in a condominium in Phoenix, sometime over here in the state of California, and we have a place up in northern Arizona,” McCain continued, explaining how his campaign got to the number four in the count. (McCain is being conservative: ABC News’s count is ten homes on eight properties.)

I watched, its probably still going. they left the first break with a few jokes about the house comments, then came back with a couple more and sure enough mccain repeated the line I spent five years without a house, without a table and I thought he was going to joke but he didn't. he then said that cindy's father built the empire from nothing and about her generosity.

They are equally funny and smooth -- I'll give you that. And both complete losers.

    btw,

I think he dropped the POW stuff because he was tired of Leno making jokes about his houses. like, look mofo, i did five years, I deserve this, what do you do, tell jokes?

let's not forget he volunteered to go into active duty... in what some might say was an offensive war. to me, in my opinion, his POW-status doesn't automatically make him a victim. he was a POW and he's alive, the people he killed aren't. the people disfigured by his gun are also suffering today...

Wow. So let's make them the POTUS.

The W in POW stands for "war." War is not tennis.

Let's attack the man for telling a story over and over that he just happens to have the authority to tell... his own story.

Barack is telling his this week. So?

I'm not bashing him for it.

    Ease up people. My goodness.

I did notice this though... it seems like every speaker at the DNC had a hard upbringing filled with struggle and sacrifice. That doesn't automatically make them the victims though. Let's not forget they were willingly brought into this thing called life... an offensive existence. Some kids don't make it to birth. And some of them are the victim of other people's choices. And those people, ironically, are suffering from those same choices. But then, that's not just IMO.

    See Kerry '04, IROC.

If it wasn't for that, I don't think the Dems would be pushing back so much on McCain's repeated POW excuses. You surely remember the purple band aids from 4 years ago?

    Yeah.... both sides are hypocrites.

But it isn't like this should be unexpected in the face of his repeated use of being a POW as a story/excuse/credential after the Republican smear job on Kerry.

In other news, did anybody see Nastia Liukin on Leno last night? She is a fox when she's not in that Olympic pony tail/make up. Any talk about Shawn Johnson being our most notable Olympian went out the window.

This was McCain's 13th appearance on McCain. Others who have been on the show as much include: Pamela Anderson, Dr. Phil, Larry the Cable Guy, Simon Cowell, Jennifer Love Hewitt.

    But Obama's the celebrity?

    Say what?

    Hells yes.

Who says liberals and conservatives can't get along? It just takes a delicate mixture of Keystone, meat for the grill and college football!!!
