I just saw on the news a clip of McCain apologizing at a speech for his warm up speaker referring to Barack Obama as "Hussein Obama" and for disparaging remarks about the Hillary Clinton. I haven't been able to find a link yet but when I do I will post it otherwise if someone else has a link please post. I know there's been a lot of debate back and forth here about whether it is above board to refer to Barack Obama by his middle name but apparently even John McCain doesn't.
Reminds me of the mid-90s when Tony Garza (who had been appointed by Gov. Bush as Texas Secretary of State) was running in the GOP primary for Railroad Commissioner. His opponent aired commercials that called him "Antonio" Garza instead of Tony. Everybody knew what he meant. When Jesse Helms first ran for Senate, his Dem opponent had a very noticeable Greek surname, "Galifianakis". Helms' slogan was, "Vote for Jesse. He's one of us." Not very subtle.
Also, Obama was very gracious about accepting the apology, and didn't try to gain traction from it by feigning outrage like I would expect some candidates to do. It certainly makes me feel better about the two candidates, even if some of their backers are morons.
piss poor title....Sis are you trying to infer that McCain is apologizing for something he said himself? that's not factually accurate.
reading is fundamental I will take back what I said in the other thread and, for now, give McCain the benefit of the doubt on this one.
Sis was making it sound like McCain was the one who was apologizing for something he said. That is wrong. When Obama has support from the Louis Farrakhan and the KKK, I'm not sure you have much room to talk, brah
He was apologizing for someone his campaign had asked to be a warmup speaker who used the term in the title. Until Obama's campaign asks Farrakhan to be a warm up speaker I don't think you have a case. Lil'T
agreed. Bill Cunningham isn't exactly an unknown factor though and thats pretty much his m.o., McCain's folks need to be better informed. kinda like hiring the firm of Jorge, Texx & Basso for PR.
BTW McCain also said this Nice to see him take responsibility for the tone of his campaign. Will texxx do the same?
Barack Hussein Obama Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama John Forbes Kerry Hillary Satan Clinton It's all fair game
You can feel free to pack up your surfboard and head back to 1989. You, Sean Penn, and Keaneu Reeves can have giddy fun all day calling each other "brah." You act like you expect to be taken seriously, and you start calling people "brah?" In the immortal words of Ron White...the next time you have a thought, let it go.
