Here is a Doc Rivers interview that he did today. Seems like the rumor I heard last week has made its way to the Doc and the guests. Don't know how much smoke that means is out there or the fire that it could turn out to be. But I find it intersting the comments that start right around the 10:58 mark of the interview. Nothing to do exactly with the Rockets. But alot of discussion on what Orlando will do with the first pick and the possibility of a trade between LA and Orlando.

    Again, the 10:53 mark.

ehhh....this isn't really 'the sequel' to your previous thread since Doc Rivers doesn't say anything informative. I think he would be biased when talks are about the Magic since they basically fired him for not winning with a poor team. Pretty sure there's still sour feelings there.

Here's some excerpts from what Doc Rivers said:

John Weisbrod is thinking that he doesn't care what McGrady is thinking on this, and he'll take the best player available, Okafor or Howard. He's got to do what it takes to get the best team within 2 of 3 years, not just next year. If he thinks that Howard will be special, he'll take him, even if it takes another couple years for him to develop. He'll take his risk with McGrady later.

Doc said, if he's LA, he wouldn't trade Shaq for the #1 pick. He'd never give Shaq up, no matter who it is. He thinks Phil Jackson will leave, but that LA will hold onto Shaq and Kobe, and try to win another championship, and if Shaq walks, he walks. Shaq and Kobe clearly don't get along, but at the end of the day, they work it out on the court. Kupchak will find a way to hang onto them both, even if Phil leaves.

There are rumors, Shaq has stated, that If Phil leaves, he'll go to Orlando to play with Tracy, and win a championship. Shaq and McGrady are really close friends, and Shaq loves Orlando. But, the problem, is Shaq has another year, and LA won't let him go. If I'm LA. I wouldn't trade him until after I find out if the new coach could make Shaq and Kobe can work it out. There's plenty of time to trade Shaq if it doesn't. Its not like anyone would turn Shaq down. At the end of the day, I think that Kobe will stay. From everything we've heard, McGrady is leaning more toward going, than staying. But, if Shaq came to Orlando, Tracy would stay.

Kobe going to San Antonio could happen, it wouldn't shock me, although they'd have to let Ginobli would walk, due to finances. They are going to make a strong run at Kobe, and they do have a chance. If San Antonio doesn't get Kobe, they'll save their money for a year, and then go after Tracy McGrady.
