I remember when an MMA fighter was talking about Mayweather and said he wouldn't last in a MMA ring, Mayweather told the press that MMA is not real fighting and that if he even stepped into the ring with their rules they wouldn't last one round. Let this happen I wanna see Mayweather get S%#t nocked out of him. Or better yet see his ass tap out because it hurts so bad lol.
I could have sworn I heard the opposite, that Mayweather said that he wouldn't last a round. I know for sure I've heard at least one big name boxer admit that they would get torn apart in MMA.

I hope he doesn't end up fighting some 3rd rate shmuck fighter. Put him against some of the better fighters in the UFC/former-PRIDE. Hell, put him in there against Fedor.
I don't think it's safe to assume that Mayweather would get his ass kicked in MMA. A lot of these guys wouldn't know how to defend themselves against Mayweather's punches and might get knocked out pretty quickly.
I don't really keep up with boxing, but what is his weight class? I mean would it permit him to go against Fedor? Also I know this guy is one the best in boxing right now, but I still think he'd have to earn it and climb his way to the top before fighting against the best in MMA. Plus it would also help him get accustomed to the different fighting styles, and would help break him in, instead of being tossed into a pack of lions. I think any athlete in the highest fighting caliber is capable of competing against other world class athletes in their respected professions, but you'd have to at least them adjust. I think if he had immense success in MMA, it would be at least comparable to Bo Jackson's success in baseball as well as football, although to a lesser degree in my opinion due to the various technicalities that make baseball and football almost polar opposites compared to fighting.
