maybe Yao really benefits from the Detroit incident

    I am listening to Sportingnews radio, and the host brought up the topic of Rush Limbaugh calling the Detroit fighting incident an example of NBA gangsters fighting without guns. For the most part, the callers are siding with Rush concerning this. Maybe Yao's personality is a benefit to the NBA that will eventually reap him the favoritism of the referees. Just check how the Rockets draw on the road.

    Atlanta 16595 before 11326 after 11986

    Clippers 18255 before 14985 after 17077

    Nets 13942 before 12975 after 12127

    The 1st number is the attendance for the Rockets game at the respective arena. The next number is attendance of the game immediately before, and the 3rd number is the attendance of the game immediately after. Keep in mind that the Atlanta and Nets games were on Tuesday and Monday respectively. Those are tough draws since they are school nights.

    Of course, a lot of the draw is TMac, but Yao is definitely a large factor in people coming to the game. NBA better recognize that Yao is a moneymaker even for road teams.

    David Stern needs to call up Team Yao and tell him, it's time to step it up. I wouldn't be surprised to see Yao be a very high vote getter for this year's all-star game. All these folks going to the arenas are voting for Yao and TMac. Yao is very dependent on the refs not allowing opponents to push him around. It's up to David Stern to show the refs who the boss is.

    First, why would anyone care what Rush thinks about sports?

    Second, the refs just need to be consistent. If they call something on one end, they should call it on the other. As long as they do that, I'm fine with whatever calls they make. Yao will just have to adjust to that.

    Now, if they aren't consistent in their calls, they should be hammered for it whether Yao is benefitting or not.

    yao always draws well.

    every place he visits it seems happen to have asian american night that particular game. i wonder why. :mad:

    So first Rush opens up his big fat mouth and says that Donovan Mcnabb is an overrated quarterback whose hyped cause he's black. Now, he's saying NBA players are "gangsters" fighting without guns. I sure wonder what he was saying in the days following the Todd Bertuzzi incident a couple years back.:rolleyes:

    Yao has a chance to sell himself as an Anti-Artest. The trouble is, that can get you labeled "soft". He's better off not "working" it either way, and just being Yao.

    Well, he has been voted in as the starter the last two years. I can't imagine anything that would change that this season.

    Did yall see Van Grumpy scream at Yao in the Kings game??? When Yao turned around and walked towards Van Grumpy, I was afraid Yao was gonna finally blow his top and bust Van Grumpy's jaw open!!! :eek:
