I'm guessing that ROXTIA is refering to the fact that Jackson is a free agent at the end of the year and that GS doesn't have Bird rights on him. Since Houston should have more cap space that GS, that idea isn't far fetched at all. GS will be over the cap again next year, so the most they can offer Jackson is the middle class exception. I'm guessing that they'll be lots of teams willing to beat that offer. Regarding Marc Jackson - if the Warriors see that he is going to be "the man", they could easily trade Dampier to the Center-hungry East for someone with a contract expiring at the end of this season. That leaves plenty of $ to sign Jackson. Regarding Croshere - I love his hustle and would wonder how the Rocks would do with him at SF. But there is no way the Pacers are gonna part with him. I think Croshere's growth was a response to Bird's pushing him. Rudy is like Isiah and would not "crack the whip" as much. This may be the reason he is floundering and I don't think a change of scenery would fix it. Croshere was a #12 pick and between the Bucks pick and our own, we're going to be close to that. That leaves plenty of $ to sign Jackson. No, not really. Dampier makes $5.6M and is a second year BYC player. That means that GS can only get $4.2M in return for him. That alone will make him difficult to move (since GS doesn't have the cap room to absorb the $1.4M difference), but it's still possible. Even if GS could move Dampier for a player in the final year of their contract, that would only free up $4.2M in cap space. Since GS is projected to be at least $3.3M over the cap next year, they'd only end up with $900K in cap space. That means that GS best offer still ends up being the middle class exception. Unless he's got an incredible amount of loyalty towards GS, Jackson will be elsewhere next year. ------------------
