Maybe so-called "players coach" Rick Adelman is the problem

    1. We know Yao didn't really care for him. In fact, he didn't have a clue how to coach Yao and we saw greatly declined production, plus an injury, from Yao running too much. He still doesn't have a clue how to reintegrate Yao.

    2. Mishandled the Von Wafer situation during the playoffs. Wafer was just a little bit emotional in a heated game and "King" Adelman couldn't handle it. Instead he allowed his ego to damage team chemistry.

    3. Gives greenlights to headcases who can't play. First Artest and now Ariza, both shot at career low clips. Ariza is so frustrated with himself that he's taking swings at people and crying during games. Yet King Adelman is unwilling to second guess himself and realize that when a player can't handle his role, it's time to reassess.

    4. Now McGrady, who just wanted a chance to prove himself, and would have resigned with us at a reduced rate, is on his way out. McGrady would have signed with us for cheap and is probably better than anyone else we could have gotten with that money, yet King Adelman "can't find a place for him" with one of our wings injured and the other one shooting in the 30's. If playing time has to be earned, at what point does Ariza shoot himself out of the lineup? Yet because of King Adelman's ego, we don't get to see if it would have worked. It would NOT have hurt the team to give McGrady 20 minutes for three games when he would have been taking minutes away from Ariza.

Doesn't it seem odd that the only two players who don't like him are the diva headcases we had? Everyone else loves him. Period.

Also, its not just Adelman saying that Ariza should be given the green light, its also Morey, and I refuse to contradict Morey. He simply knows more about everything related to basketball than I ever will.

I completely agree with you on the trevor situation.. obviously minutes aren't earned in Ariza's case, cuz he's been sucking crap and still getting 40 minutes a game

If RA wants to see Ariza shoot the ball 15+ times a game, then let him. Let him suffer. And then if he wants to see Ariza "not try" on defense then let him.

If you can't play for Adelman, it's YOUR problem. If Ron Artest and Bonzi Wells can play for him, why can't others?

I think your on to something... You should have added he never played Deke when Yao needed the rest. Only played Deke when Yao was out for the season. And even then Deke didn't really get that much PT.

    ^This.

He's coached for teams with bigger superstars than Tracy McGrady. None of them ever had issues with him.

Ariza can play with him....by taking over 15 shots a game, and playing about 40 minutes a game!
Oh i forgot let him also go 6 for 16 from the field. Shooting 37.5%!

Fails all over your original post.

Yao didn't get injured for the first time in his career under Rick, he had a history of season ending injuries. And he made him run too much??? Are you serious?!?!?!

Wafer was not a mishandled situation, he blew up in a playoff game and was sent to the locker room, then chose to head to Europe. Oh wait, wasn't he just recently about to re-sign with us? Man he hated coach....

Ariza is just not a go to guy, we don't have one right now that is why we've been playing team ball all season and winning, way more than anyone expected.

Tracy is just being Tracy. He's whining and crying his way out of Houston the same way he did leaving Toronto and Orlando. Now who's next?

Artest could only play for him because Adelman was too intimidated to reign him in.

    prove it.

this is just insane. von had his best year as a basketball player under adelman. he left to greece and quickly fizzled out. what other team did wafer have success for in his nba career? ummm .... no one.

last time i checked we made it to the 2nd round with artest. last time i checked we were 18-13 with the hardest schedule and the biggest percentage of games played on the road. wtf do you want? it's not as if we have many players who can create out there.

lol...adelman did give tmac a chance after ariza got suspended. and tmac looked like he was nowhere close to 100% and was still loafing around on offense and defense. what do you want? adelman to satisfy tmac just because it is his contract year? or do you want adelman to watchout for team chemistry and our record? you act like the team looked better with tmac out there. he wasn't close to healthy and you know that.

T-Mac could not play for him because he wasn't being put on the floor long enough.

Tim Hardaway had similiar issues as well and went on to become an all star for years after he got traded...

    R.A. has to go.

I'm all for TMac getting out of Houston, but I have to agree that this situation has not been handled right and neither have Yao's minutes been handled well.

IF, TMac is truly healthy you have to find a way to integrate him into what ever you're doing. I don't think he is. We will find out if/when he gets traded and start playing. If he is successful, it will tell us how poorly of a job Adelman has done.
