Celtics' coach was saying that playing Taylor and Paggett open up the lane for them which is a key to the win. They were hoping it was Cato, but say "darn" when Taylor started.

Maybe it's better to start Taylor afterall what do you think?? I think team are doubling Yao off of Cato's man...so isn't it better to start Taylor since he can make them pay for leaving him to double Yao. I don't know...what do u think? I am not sure if Mo Taylor can guard Duncan and Garnett and some of those guys though where as Cato has a better chance in my opinion pound per pound and the height.

If Yao have a consistent 20/10, it's not a bad idea to start Taylor.

    Taylor didn't start, Padgett did.

Such a dilemma having MoT and Cato, but honestly I don't think it matters whos tarts, because we need a halthy dose of each of them each night. For teams that cheat on our PF to cover Yao, we need to play Mo more, for teams that play man-to-man we need to go with Cato.

Either way,w e need Cato to concentrate on his offense, and MoT to keep concentrating on his rebounding. He's been pretty consistently good with it lately up until this last Celtics game, but I'm hoping it's just from him being tired on a back to back.

I don't recall the exact figures but IIRC the Rockets are something like 18-3 when ahead after Q1 and 2-13 when tied or behind. That may not be exact but it's close. The differential is shocking. Soooo....

If the strategy is to establish Yao early, and Yao is going to need to be rested at the +/- 5:00 minute mark of Q1 meaning Mo T plays the entire quarter, and you don't want the other team to establish their offense, and you can game situation substitute in Q4 (based upon need of O or D), ..... start Cato at PF.

And yes I know opponents will sag off of him, but without a quality backup PF, he's going to get his 28 minutes. And they may as well be with Yao, Cat, JJ and Steve as oppossed to Wilks or MJax, Pike, Boki, JJax and Taylor. IOW, if you have to play him for lack of a backup PF, play him with the most potent offensive counterparts.
