I trolled around a bit today to see how they are reacting

There are certainly a few of our own bbs members who are rubbing it in on their site (though funny at times - perhaps a little too self-serving)

I noted a couple however who are certainly playing it undercover. Saying things such as, "I think it is over" "the Rockets are just too good for us" and even the picture of McGrady riding his little Mav (Brady) with a 10 gallon hat, with the title "how can I cheer up to this".

So, Forenzi (to pick out one) your posts were great . . how about unveiling your clutch codename.

Shall you have the chance to read their site I suggest you check it out, it is worth a few laughs.

This is one of the reasons I like this site (registration closed) because the trolls just can't get in..

I would hate stuff like that happening to this board!

You know the mods would certainly have their hands full if it was open. Imagine the number of users logged on last night would have been if it was open to all after last nights game.

We hit 906 with registered users, now if guests were able to log in......WOW!

Unlike you, I did not find forenzi and those like him amusing at all. There is no need to go there and act like an idiot and rub it in their face. Imagine if the rockets had lost and a bunch of trolls were able to come here and post just like those idiotic and childish rockets fans that have been posting over at mav talk. Doesnt sound to fun now does it?

I say enjoy our win, celebrate, gloat etc, but lets do so on our own forum and not in theirs.

Man, I totally agree with this. Let's show some class.

I agree as well. It bothers me to no end when I see Rockets fans being obnoxious trolls on other fansites. Look at all the fans from other teams who're members of this board.

MemphisX => despite the hardcore Grizzly homerism and occasional trash-talk, he's usually polite and gives credit where it's due.

mfclark => was a bit upset and disgruntled about the McGrady trade, but that's not surprising. Regardless, he's always posted intelligently.

    Nuggets4 => well-respected long-time member

Seriously, have some class like these aforementioned members and try not to troll at other fansites. :p

I was on mav-talk. I might have done some trolling... :D

They deserve some **** though, with all the smack they were talking.

    Exactly!

I know that the Rox wins are great, but this series is far from over. The point is to get 4 wins not just 2.

Plus even if we do beat the Mavs, there is no reason to troll on other sites and act like an arse.

Someone's sig on this BBS says it all, "stay humble and hungry." I think if the rockets and us fans can maintain our composure, that will carry more weight for respect than someone demanding respect after a win.

Ugh, I've been there a few times. And in that short time, I was instantly irritated by the blatant ignorant homerism and elitist attitude there.

Two that stuck out were, two fellows by the monikers of Mulvany and JonG, if I got their names right but, who cares. These two agreed game 1 was won duely to the Rocket's "miraculously" playing "the best they could ever play" and the mavs playing "the worst they could ever play". Well, after the game 2 victory, which showed they hadn't at all played their "best" in game 1, they once again see eye to eye. This time it was due to Dirk not showing up for some mysterious, inexplicable reasons, that they just can't seem to pinpoint, which are in no correlation(sp?) to anything Rocket's related. And that it's nothing to worry about. Because, the Rockets have to play "amazingly" on a consistent basis to keep defeating the mavs, while they merely have to play "subpar" to win.

All in all, most there blame the officiating, give little to no credit to the Rockets etc etc

But, I agree with others here. The rocket fans there aren't at all representitive of Clutchfans.net, and should show more class. Not only are those acts tasteless and juvenile(sp?), acting mightier than the mighty can lead to bad karma.

I'm away at school at SFA in Nacogdoches. Anyway there are Mavs fans EVERYWHERE up here. Last week I heard nothing but trash talk from them. Anyway I'm tickled pink that the rockets are up 2-0 right now but I havent rubbed it in anybody's face. I guess part of it is cause I'm worried about jinxing the team. So I just prefer to sit back and enjoy it and watch the Mavs fans losing their minds.

Funny thing about that argument is that we are far from playing "amazingly." Sure, we shot the ball very well yesterday, but we rebounded like absolute crap. How many offensive rebounds/second chance points did the Mavs get?

I can tell you for sure that there's no way Van Gundy is going to let that slide. It's a scary thing: The Rockets can still play much better.

Every fan site is predominantly made up of homers. It's how it is.

I also say, don't be a troll. Remind yourself how fun it is when you have to put up with Laker fans when they're winning. Don't go down that road.

Alternative - lurk and come back here to post some of the dumber stuff being posted. That's just fun for everybody :)

funny, because when I was at Baylor in the early to mid 90's you couldn't find a Dallas sports fan who gave a damn about the Mavs...and that was in the Dallas media market, basically.

same with the Rangers. most of the sports fans from Dallas couldn't tell you their starting lineup back then.

I did actually go read at both Mvs forums during a slow time time yetserday...adn was sickened by the obnoxious behavior of some Rockets fans.

Im almost tempted to register to post and apologize for them and state that most of us arent that way.

but then the urge passes and I get back to reading the best damn bbs in the world... ;)

Exactly. I made a comment that rubbed some people the wrong way when I said where where all the cocky Mavs fans 6-7 years ago when they won 20 games a year. Now their coming out the wood works. I'm not one to talk smack but I felt that it needed to be said.

I liked the comment from a mav fan about how we are basically playing them 4 on 5 because of Bowen, playing their style, and still outscoring them.
