I was just visiting Mavs' bbs and noticed that they have a thread on trading finley for ming. I thought it was funny. I doubt the rockets would trade ming for even dirk, finley, bradley combined. Good for laughs though. http://www.dallas-mavs.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=2&threadid=3535&start=121
Looks like the only fair deal is Ming for Dirk. But Houston doesn't need a shooter at all and Dirk is Dalla's franchise. No way for such thing to happen...
The notion that this is a fair deal is insane. The notion that the Rockets would even put the words "Yao" and "trade" together would be even more assinine.
Wasn't there a Mavericks article on the internet laughing at the fact that potentially the Chinese government might not allow Ming to come to the Rockets and talking about how they felt good knowing that Rockets fans were worrying? Somebody posted that article on this BBS, the search engine is cut off so I can't get it. I wonder if that the clown is still laughing at us.
Looks like the first post was May 2th. Before the draft even happned. ...and it's still going strong. They wish!
I've lurked around the team forums around the league. There's a thread about how to trade for Yao/get Yao through FA in just about everyone of them. Even in Lakers forum.
that thread got started before the draft though. it's funny, but it's not nearly as funny as if somebody had made it yesterday.
There is a dude OzDirkFan that said trade for Yao all along though, even before the draft. Funny that a jr member make all the sr members look pretty bad. He must feel pretty smart right now.
The team that comes out ahead in any NBA trade is the team that gets the best player. Within a year, nobody on the Mavs will be better than Yao Ming. Therefore, we will not trade Yao Ming to the Mavs. Next.
yup, i'm sure timberpup fans laughed just as hard about the idiotic Garnett trades that swept this board during the offseason.
I looked it over carefully and here is what my take is. It started in May and pretty much ended in May, before the lottery. They thought the Bulls were a shoe in for the 1st pick. They were talking about trading the pick for Finley, some idiot said that they should throw in Rose and that makes it a done deal. Anyways, somebody brought it back up on the 11 and said, in hindsight, would you have made that deal? The all say yes and that the Rocks would be dumb to make that trade because Yao is younger than finley. There's different ideas about would they we trade ming for someone like shaq, kobe, garnett, t-mac, etc. . . Some say yes, some say Yao has too much potential. Anyways, just saying you guys shouldn't jump to conclusions.
