Will be signed to 1 year partial guarenteed contract. Will also have to earn spot on team during camp. Expected to fill role Greg Buckner held in Dallas. http://dallasbasketball.com/headline_A.asp?pr=
Decent pickup for the Mavs. Raja brings defense and a team player to the team, and he is a big guard, which always helps.
With all of the guards they already had, I doubt he makes the roster. Even if he does, he's looking at a season on the IR unless Finley, Nash, or Van Exel get hurt.
http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_1299.shtml According to Hoopsworld, Bell signed with the Spurs; not the Mavs.
Da-yumn, how many players can the Mavs have? And coaches, for that matter? They already have overpaid Tariq Abdul-Wahad or whatever his name is, can't shoot real well but can supposedly play defense. But Dallas seems content to sign everyone...maybe so no one else will get'em?
Hoopsworld is probably the most unreliable source out there. Doesn't suprise me they would screw that up too.
I am not even sure if the Mavericks have 12 players yet. Right now they only have 11 or 12 players on the roster. The only new people the Mavericks have signed this whole summer are Popeye Jones and Raja Bell, both of who signed for the minimum. If the Mavericks want to have a full lineup they will have to sign some people. Other teams have signed more people than the Mavericks, are they content to sign everyone also or is this more Cuban bashing?
