this sounds more like a ploy by Butler's agents because the Mavs can not have any contact with NBA players and just traded for Rudy Fernandez.

Um, Rudy and butler don't really play the same position, Rudy is more of a sg who was forced to play sf because of Roy, while Butler was a straight up SF. With Marion already in the fold I don't really see a need for Butler, esp. since it seems like his athleticism finally deserted him.

Rudy F is one of the most underrated players in the L, and I expect him to be the missing link to the Mavs lineup. He's a really good 2nd/3rd scorer, and I think he'll either start and allow Jet to return to his 6th man role, or become the new sparkplug off the bench.

I'm just plain jealous of the Mavs right now. That's some quality depth right there. They're totally stacked and their problem is whether to bring back an awesome player out with a non-serious injury in the prime of his career. Sign me up.

They look pretty solid at the 2 with Terry and Fernandez. Bye Bye Stevenson. They are thin at the 3 though. They have just Brewer atm and he is kinda raw. Marion can play the 3 too but they need him to back up the 4 as well.

Is a 32 year old Butler coming back from injury/surgery the answer?
