JAson kidd was caddied by cuban in a round of golf. ANd he said he ould love to go to dallas if they get mourning. ANd karl malone also wants to go there. ANd with jason kidd would go there with steve nash to new jersey. That is really scary. WE also better pray san antonio does not get jermaine o'neal. No way we could beat them.
The really scary part is that both teams can buy all the undrafted players they want like Chris Marcus, Matt Carroll, Kirk Penny, etc. If Marcus' feet turn out to be okay, can you see a front line of Tim Duncan PF, Marcus C and O'Neal SF? Ouch!
ot of blocked shots. I rememer when jermaine got 10in one game. ANd duncan i think beat the nba record per game in the finals and total and did it in 6 games
but who knows? maybe we will get mourning.... and just because they load their team with stars, doesn't mean their team will be any good. dallas is slowly becoming the yankees of the nba if all that goes down but they wont have our ichiro if ya catch my drift. chemistry baby
mavs or san antonio? if it is the mavs KIDD/NVE Pippen/finley raja bell DIrk/finley MAlone/najera Mourning/Bradley I like what pippen did with portland tis year
Shouldn't this be in the NBA forum? The first time I think I read the word Rockets was in Rockbox's post about this having nothing to do with them.
Every team in the West is getting monumentally better with the exception of perhaps the Suns, the Jazz, and us.
Now you realise why I have been like a Preacher on an endless Sermon! Preaching that we must improve the quality of our Roster and at same time trading players that wont play the team game. So many posters think I am way off the mark when I suggest going after players like Elton Brand etc. or when I criticize Steve Francis for lack of team play.If we stick with our present roster we can get into the playoffs but without 'significant' improvements forget about Championships for the next FIVE years. Dallas and San Antonio with their determined roster upgrades will lead us in the Mid-West. When I think of CD,during the Draft, sitting by the phone waiting for it to ring. I wonder how determined and how focused are we about keeping pace with the other NBA Teams? JVG should realise that all these FA or RFA wont be available once the season starts. Let's hope that the effort that produces the Big Splaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaash just hasn't happened yet! But that its on the way!
Yetti- our prospects at a title fall almost squarely on the shoulders of Yao and Francis. if Yao can dominate in the same way that Duncan/Dream/Shaq/etc. do and Steve is just Steve then we have a chance.
This is all based on the premise that guys like Kidd, JO, Malone, and Payton do not resign with their current teams. With the exception of Malone, I could see the other three staying with their current teams.
Why does no one mention that acquiring Jason Kidd would be difficult because his contract would be BYC? It would have to be a gigantic trade to offset the BYC of Kidd's contract, or involve a third team. It could happen but good luck.
Dallas is not getting Kidd. To get Kidd, they would probably have to get rid of Nash, and Nelson already got rid of Kidd to get Nash, do you realize how crazy that would be?
Abolutely the Mav's could improve by adding a star player such as J. Kidd. With J. Kidd the opposing team is going to have to expend more energy defending because you can't lay off of your defensive assignments when Kidd is playing. Also, the addition of Mourning is huge. I'm convinced that this guy is still one of the best centers in the league. It will be an intresting off season.
Nash is better then Kidd. Kidd can't shoot, and Nash can.... I would rather have Nash then Kidd........ Kidd is the most overated player in the NBA...... He is a great great passer, but if he is the best player on a team, that team will never win a championship. He is a good 2nd tier star player, in the Francis vein....and I would rather have Francis because at least he can shoot. DD
Actually, Kidd had already been traded by the time Nellie arrived. Nash was traded for a first round pick which Phoenix drafted Shawn Marion.
