Gotta chime in on my boy, MO T. I can't wait to see MO T back!! Why? Not sure! I guess because he's a good Houston Rocket!! Obviously, no one buys the chemistry idea...which I do. No one buys the he's still VERY young idea...which I do. No one buys the he enjoys this team idea, the starting to jell idea, the I didn't learn how to play the 'team game' in LA idea, or the I'll get better with time because I have a GREAT attitude idea. That's the difference, I guess! I buy those ideas! Now I know the MO T. haters never bought it when Webber was a head case for other teams, smokin' the dope on other teams, or arguing and bickering with players and coaches on other teams, 'gangsta' Webbuh, or the whining and complaining that he did because if they did buy that, they'd be hypocrites. I'm sure they all knew that he would be a STAR one day. Granted, when he was MO's age, he was learning, but MO should be grabbing 14 boards a game and should strive to be a SUPERSTAR cause the Rockets ONLY NEED STARS!!!! God forbid that someone wants to play for you, will take the charges, loves his teammates and coaches, has never caused one ounce of trouble in this town, and understood when you wanted to go after other players. Granted, his short arms should grab another rebound or two a game. MY GOD!! If he could just get two more rebounds a game, he'd be the ALLSTAR everyone wants! Screw the charges that he takes, he should be a shot blocker!! Forget the outside shot that would start our games off on a 10 - 0 run, he should be scoring 27 points and 11 boards a game. Then we could have #3, #5, MO T, EG, and Dream all scoring 30 and we'd be scoring 150 a game!! WE NEED MORE STARS!!! WE NEED MORE STARS!!! Fortunately, Rudy T disagrees with you naysayers. It's all about chemistry!! Also, how can you say EG is not ready? Maybe he will be, maybe he won't! Considering he hasn't had a chance to practice, I guess the 'EG's not ready' is based on those jumpy ESPN.COM clips!! By the way, what is he NOT ready for? 'Eddie won't be able to come in here and be our goto guy who'll score 30 a night! WE NEED STARS!!' If Griffin was for real he'd step in and score 27 points and 11 boards like Webber did his first year!! WE NEED STARS!!!! Drop Moochie - he's no Payton! Drop Collier - he's no Shaq! Drop Bullard - he's not fast enough! Drop Walt - he plays no D! Drop Shandon - he can't hit the 3 like Kerr! Drop Cato - Yeah, OK...Drop his ass!! This is the point I'm trying to make. Kenny Smith was not the best point, Max was not the best 2, Thorpe was not the best forward, neither was Herrera! Glyde was one of the best - good for Clyde but how many times did you scream for him to pass the damn ball??? TEAM!!!!! TEAM!!!!! TEAM!!!! They win championships!!! Ask Horry, Lue, Shaw, Grant, Fox, and Fisher! ------------------ Wait, there is another...
Nice. ------------------ The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?
What does this all mean? ------------------ Protrolls.com! "I want to be like Olajon." -Sagana Diop has the right idea...
Yeah, but the Rockets don't have anyone close to the two people you forgot to mention in that little Laker squad-Shaq and Kobe. ------------------
I felt like I was reading a script for Rocky X! Amen, Doc. Preach it brotha! ------------------ Things do not change; we change. - Henry David Thoreau
Good... I like this mentality from management much more than the impatience that's so rampant these days. Thanks for the word Doc, and welcome home Mo T. See you can't get Dream to stick around, too. ------------------ "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain -
I appreciate your enthusiasm, Doc, although I don't agree with everything you said. Still, in the spirit of the moment, (===)!!! ------------------ I'm so amazingly cool you could keep a side of meat in me for a month. I am so hip that I have difficulty seeing over my pelvis.
Drop... Drop... OHHH!!! We're gonna trade for Diop!!! Sorry, it isn't my intention to belittle the thread, Doc, I'm just suffering from cryptic post withdrawal. I totally agree. Even before we got EG, I was against Webber. He would take away any and all flexibility for 7 years or more, and after Pippen I just don't like the idea of throwing all our eggs into one Webber, especially considering we already have a decent power forward that wants to be here and at a cheaper price. Now, hopefully we can let this team grow for years to come and see what develops. Doc, any headway on getting Dream back for the next year or two? ------------------ It's a ring toss game.
But he DID mention SHAQ... ------------------ "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain - [This message has been edited by DarkHorse (edited June 29, 2001).]
Doc, That is one of the best post I've read in the last 4 months. All I can say is NICE!!!! REAL NICE!!!! ------------------ Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.....
The Rockets don't need stars necessarily, but if they can get them... BTW, if Mo Taylor wants to smoke pot or act like a 'gangstuh'(I'm not sure what this means) that's fine. Just ****ing rebound the ball.
Brilliant, Doc. ------------------ I would rather have Mo Taylor and his love of the Rockets than Webber and his love of our money.
Just thought I'd point a few things out: Abdur-Rahim, entering the NBA after his freshman year, averaged ~18 and 7 his rookie year...for a bad team. Garnett (at the time about 6-10 and 210) averaged about 17 and 8 his 2nd year...on a pretty good team with other scorers. Iverson put up 23 ppg his rookie year -- after 1 year of college (on a bad team). Why can't we expect Griffin to provide offense and rebounding right away? I know, this belongs more in other thread, as it is in response to things said there, but Doc brought it up... ------------------ Squatting on old bones and excrement and rusty iron, in a white blaze of heat, a panorama of naked idiots stretches to the horizon. Complete silence-their speech centers are destroyed-except for the crackle of sparks and the popping of singed flesh as they apply electrodes up and down the spine. White smoke of burning flesh hangs in the motionless air. A group of children have tied an idiot to a post with barbed wire and built a fire between his legs and stand watching with bestial curiosity as the flames lick his thighs. His flesh jerks in the fire with insect agony.
Too easy ZRB,.....Webber will not be sought after because the pieces we have equal a better team regarding how the pieces fit together to make a better team. Still confused?, Well, think like this: a tandem of Griffin and Taylor may jive better than Griffin and Webber or Webber and the rest of the team for that matter. We have an opportunity to go far, but it takes a team with the right pieces to go farther....I'm all for Webber, but if the result is a better team without him, then I'm all for that. It is very likely that we will be a better team without him regarding how the players work together...maybe, maybe no, but I feel this is the message intended..And Cato sucks and Dream is still welcome, but come down off the price please.. ------------------ Rarely is the question asked: Guns kill squirrels than REDRUM to fools across the nation?
I think I've figured out who Doc is...The Cat Seriously though, you and Cat have sold me on Taylor ------------------
Agree with almost all of it...except the "drop Moochie" part...he has all star hair! you cant forget the hair! Keep Moochie! ------------------ "Africa is a nation that suffers from incredible disease." - George W.
I'm glad that Mo wants to play with the Rockets but I hope that he won't get lazy after getting a big contract like Cato.I honestly feel that Mo will get a little better this year if he resigns with us.If he can ever get consistant and give performances like he did against the T-Wolves we will be in great shape. I hope he will work hard on rebounding, defence and scoring in the paint along with his excellent mid range shooting and dunking. Don't drop MOOCHIE.He is a great backup for Francis. ------------------
FACT: Iverson went to college for 2 years. FACT: Iverson played on an Elite Eight team. ------------------
I know I ignorred the point on that..hehehe...but I will take any opportunity to address Moochie's hair ------------------ "Africa is a nation that suffers from incredible disease." - George W.
