I was wondering why Mo was starting tonight. Does anyone know? Maybe just for tonight? Anyways, he started out like he usually did. He did good, but of course, it was an Eastern Conference team. And I liked how Eddie came off the bench. For some reason, he looked very energetic and was hustling and at least kinda trying. He was fairly efficient in 9 minutes. He still missed the easy shots like he usually does, but did good as a backup. So do you think Mo Taylor should continue to start?
No, not at this point. EG usually starts off with a lot of energy, grabbing rebounds and then peters off to nothing hitting airballs late in the game. Better to start EG, milk him for all he's got and then play MOT for the 2nd half.
According to the idea of starting your best five players, he should be starting. He's back to the form that got him his contract. But he and Yao are our go to guys in the post and it seems a shame to play them together and then get stuck with Griffin and Cato together. Yao/Griffin and Cato/Taylor are better complements. It's a tough call but I'd stick with Eddie as starter and give Mo the bulk of the minutes.
Oh, and KeepJuaquin: Bill and Calvin said Mo was starting to match up with KT, as he had given Kenny trouble in practice. Sounds kind of like what Jeff reported over the summer.
One problem with "start the best 5"... The Rox need to initiate the offense thru Yao especially at the start the game. Most of what Mo does is 1on1 stuff without going thru Yao. Is it that hard to have Yao set a screen for Mo?
It was good to see Taylor get double digit rebounds, if he can keep that up i don't mind him starting at all
