I was on my way home at 4pm sharp and heard on 610am that the Rockets are starting free agency with not much money to spend, but it doesnt stop them from talking to their top free agent prospects, Brent Barry and Maurice Evans. It was the first time I heard his name mentioned to the Rockets on anything other than a message board. I figured I would pass this info along. Listen to the sports flash (quick summary of Houston sports) and they mention it!!

Sorry, no link, if someone has one, please include it in your post.

I like this... evans can play either the 2 or 3, is a physical wing, and can hit open 3's, but also can score in different ways.

at about half of the MLE he would be a great addition.

considering he only had $2 salary last year, this sounds genuine...

Pietrus would command something like 4-5 mil which we cant afford with Landry looking to take up half of our MLE...

I was researching about Mo Evans, he sounds pretty good, although he is just pretty much a spot up shooter...

    good news to hear

I've only seen him play once in a NBA game.I liked his physical defense and he played within himself. I don't think he took many 3 pointers. I wanted to ask you do you think that he is more of a mid-range shooter and can he take the ball to the basket?

Don't watch much Magic ball either. But according to 82games, he shoots 57% jump shots; 24% close; 15% dunk; 4% tip. Not too shabby.

Well I like him, guy who shot really well for Magic last season but what important, he can put the ball on the floor and get to the ft line.

    Good upgrade at 2. spot.

    If like Mo Evans

Physical 6'5 slasher who can hit the open 3.

Good defender against guards and smaller SFs.

I'd like to get both him and Barry!

you have the wrong impression of evans game. He is a slasher/mid range guy first, 3 pt shooter second. He was taking 3's because that was orlando's game.

He is a big guard who can work inside and on the post some as well.

he's more of a slasher/mid range player who can also post up smaller players. he only took so many 3's in orlando because that was their style.

    Nah, I heard it too.

I think if we could get Evans for half the MLE, Landry for half the MLE, and then Barry for the LLE...that'd be a pretty nice off season.

Wow, thats even better then...a slasher who can consistently shoot the 3? Sound good for us.

so I guess half the MLE to Landry and the other half to Mo Evans? Sounds pretty nice. The others can just settle for vets min or rookie min
