He is going to do good there. I could run for 1000+ yards for Denver. This is exactly what he needed. Im glad for him.

Between this and acquiring the Cleveland dline I'm sure Manny is excited.

Wow. Clarett could not have been put in a better situation. Now he's going to be a 1000 yd back.

    It's the system. :)

I'm normally one of those types that doesn't b**** about drafts. I think "Hey, these guys are being paid 6 figures to do this, I think I'll trust them". That said, we draft a midget CB and then 5 picks later lose one of the surprise players of the draft to the Bolts (Vincent Jackson, WR N. Colorado), follow that up with 2 more CB's and then draft Clarett?

Thank God my father's not alive. This might have killed him.

He better hope so. I think this may be the absolute WORST situation for Maurice.

Expectations will be super high in Denver. If he fails to succeed with the Broncos, everyone's opinions about him will be validated and he will be out of the league before you can spell "Shanahan"

In other words, the pressure is on from day 1. If he can't rush for big yards as soon as he is given the starting nod, its over for young Mo.

I don't think he'll get the starting job anyway. I could see him being the guy who is the change of pace back for Tatum Bell, though.

You GOTTA always hate the Shanahan system of running backs in recent years- watch him use Tatum Bell, Clarett, Quentin Griffin as a third down back and Mike Anderson as the goal line back or something this year! That's a fantasy football players DREAM!! :)

Just got done watching his press conference. Clarett will be buried on the Broncos' depth chart. He's got Bell, Griffin, and Droughns ahead of him.

I found it amusing that his previous agent suggested that he bulks up. As a result, he was up to almost 247 in weeks before the combine.

I believe the Denver system makes the RB shine to trade them at high value.

Hell I think Dayne will kick ass in Denver.

Under that system me or the "Fridge" Perry would be able to run for 1,000 yards.

i thought about two people immediately when i saw this:

    1. my closest friend, who happens to be a HUGE Broncos fan...by the way, he hated this pick, too.;

    2. Manny Ramirez...of course...because i can't believe that of all the teams in the league, YOUR FAVORITE ONE picked this guy who i know you can't stand!!! what are the odds??? 32:1, I guess :)

    Max,

Haha, that tells you that we spend too much time on this BBS because I figured there would be some that would guess that I hate this pick.:)

For the record, as long as Clarett is a Bronco, he will get my support. But I don't understand Shanahan's logic for picking him when he has Tatum Bell, Quentin Griffin, and now Ron Dayne.

All in all, I was very disappointed with the Broncos draft. It is like they didn't have any picks at all considering who all they drafted (Clarett and 3 CBs who were considered mediocre).

I guess this proves that the 40-yard dash time is easily the most overrated, useless statistic in sports history...

Well, during the combines, all I heard about Clarett was his 4.8 40 time. Everybody said he was out of shape and wouldn't get drafted. How people can base a player's worth on how fast he runs 40 yards without pads on is beyond me.

...anybody have Emmitt Smith's 40 time before he got drafted?
