Honestly, does a Stafford-led Rams team move the needle? Teams in their division include the Seahawks, 49ers and Cardinals. Depending on what happens with Garoppolo or if SF moves in a new direction, I'm not sure Stafford makes the Rams so obviously better than any of those teams.
The Rams just beat the Seahawks in the playoffs... starting a QB off the street. QB was the only weak spot on that team.
You seriously think $130M is a lot to an NFL team/owner, compared to having a 25yr old phenom who could possibly play into his 40's ala Brady or Breeze? There is NO comparison!
Yes, $130MM is a lot for an owner when it's a big salary cap limitation. That's why the Rams paid so much - they were offloading a terrible contract. It's a much bigger version of the Texans paying Cleveland to take Osweiler off their hands. Stafford wasn't worth the amount you posted. Stafford + getting rid of Goff was worth that.
I'm so disillusioned with the Texans I've pretty much lost any interest in the NFL the last few years. What in the hell happened to Goff, last I saw of him he was budding superstar in the super bowl
The Rams got a lot of picks of rg3, most of them ended up sucking. I think draft picks are pretty overrated unless you have a good gm which who knows if the lions have.
