i'm not a fan of the texans though but he's already overachieving.

I don't know about overachieving- he's done well, but I don't think he's performed like a top teir QB.

But I was thinking about it the other day. He really has gone a long way from being essentially a rookie quarterback to gain the city's confidence. He has only played three games. I think there's still a lot to prove.

Schaub's started 3 games here. He's just started up on his learning curve. He's made a few mistakes, but his poise is what excites me the most about him. I really look forward to watching him play!!

yeah he hasn't really overachieved. he has been solid but he has still made some dumb mistakes with some dumb forced pass interceptions. i guess if you expected nothing from him then he is overachieving.

Matt is the present and the future.

His inate ability to feel the rush, check off, read defenses and find the open man,or to just be a leader is obvious.

This guy has "it"...What all the greats have.

And one last thing....Even though we were depleted by injuries does anyone really doubt that if he had enough time on that clock against Indy that Matt wouldn't have gotten us into the endzone.

Shorthanded,we're going to crush the Falcons.

Why, yes. Yes, I do. He's been great and all, but the offense is still getting their legs under them. It's not like they been the pinnacle of efficiency out there--especially with no running game to keep the safeties honest.

With Green's status up in the air,I see Ron Dayne being able to handle the job when needed.I do think we need another RB and I think as the season rolls along Kubes will get what we need to fill in the blanks as we are a playoff team. The loss of Steve at center shouldn't hurt us too bad due to Flanagan's presence.I wish we had more depth but that goes along with being an up and comer.

I agree though by midseason that this team will be exponenentially better assuming we don't get slammmed by major injuries.

As far as Matt goes,he was ready to bring us back but ran out of time.Thse turnovers were costly and as he gets settled in I don't see that happening at crucial times.
Again thoughI feel that Bob,Ric,and Kubes will get us what we need(but niot at the cost at mortgaging the future) as we are going top the playoffs.

schaub is the real deal, imo. Granted, its only ben 3 games but his reads, precision and management have been great and you assume they will only get better. A few forced passes but the qb has to take gambles at times, especially after watching david just eat it the last few years.

Overachieving implies that you are succeeding when you were expected to fail. I never expected Schaub to fail, therefore he's not overachieving. Is he better than adverstised? Time will tell, but so far he's been worth the trade we made for him and then some. The mark of a good NFL QB is making quick decisions with the football, and not panicking in any situation, and so far, he's been great at both of those. The only real negative in his game so far is the tendency to try and force the ball when we're in the red zone. I can understand that he's trying to strike while the iron is hot, per se, but the coaches have to pull the reigns on him a little bit in those situations. I am 100% confident that we are witnessing the growth of a great franchise quarterback right before our eyes. I am looking forward to many, many years of hearing "Schaub to Johnson....TOUCHDOWN!"

I think he will fine for us for the next few years. I don't think he is Manning but he is good enough.

One thing is for sure, Schaub as a first year starter looks much better than Carr did.
