Before the four-team trade that sent Dudley to Phoenix, there were rumors that NY would send him to Philadelphia for Matt Geiger. Dudley for Geiger?! Granted Houston does not have a center they can send to Philadelphia, but a package of Williams and Rogers could work. Philadelphia gets a scoring SF and a service-able Rogers to play alongside Ratliff. Geiger would bring interior toughness to Houston. This trade would allow Anderson to play more minutes at SF, Mobley more minutes at SG, and Houston to keep Drew as the SG on the second unit. With the signing of Brad Miller, Chicago cut seven-foooter Chris Anstey. He would be a good pickup for the salary exception. ------------------ Forget regrets or life is yours to miss.
No way! The Rockets need to hold out for ERIC MONTROSS!!!!! ------------------ I am so exasperated that I could expectorate.
Exactly. That's what I've been saying, but no one seems to agree. I'm glad there are the two of us. ------------------ Forget regrets or life is yours to miss. [This message has been edited by University Blue (edited September 21, 2000).]
Ha ha ha ha ha!!! I THINK Crisco is KIDDING U. Blue. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
Sorry UB. You are the only one who believes in him. Where is the sarcastic smiley? ------------------ I am so exasperated that I could expectorate.
Matt Geiger's contract: (in millions) 2000/01 - 8.16 2001/02 - 8.84 2002/03 - 9.52 2003/04 - 10.20 Now do you understand why they want to trade him? ------------------

Rockets fans complained about Cato's contract? What do Phily fans say about Geiger's deal? Mango ------------------ Test Your NBA Trade Ideas 1. Put new topics in the proper forum. Philly has fans? When did this happen? DaDakota ------------------ All you MO-FO's better stop ripping off my lines !!
Williams and Rogers for Geiger. Are you guys on dope! The guy just do fit in the Rockets chemistry and if I'm CD trading Williams and Roger, I would rather get Glen Robinson of the Bucks ------------------ Rudy T. will find and fulfill Rockets destiny.
Geiger gets a 15% salary hike if he's traded - I think... maybe someone can confirm that for me. But he WAS going to be traded during the season and the team who he was going to go to got scared off because of the salary hike. The Bucks are not drunk enough to take Williams and Rogers for Big Dog - plus the salaries aren't even as close as the Geiger deal (that one wouldn't work either). ------------------
Geiger?? This is a joke right? $51M over 6 years ending in 2004.... No thanks. Let's bring back Pig. The savings would help pay for Shandon, possibly the resigning of Mo and/or an FA if we can find one! ------------------ Is it Preseason yet ??!! Eric Montross sucks a-s-s. ------------------ Don't anybody ever suggest again that we sign Tracy Murray to a deal.
If you wonder why the 76'ers can't make a trade, just look at their freaky salary structure. They have Allen Iverson at $10mil/yr. ThenGeiger, Tyrone Hill, Toni Kukoc and Theo Ratliff all in the $6-8 mil/yr range, followed with Eric Snow @ 3mil/yr, George Lynch @ 2mil/yr and Aaron McKie @ 1mil/yr. The roster is then rounded out with rookie contract and min wage guys. They will never be able to make a small/medium sized trade because their roster is so heavy in 6-7 mil. guys. I think that this, more than anything else, is why you have seen so many trades talked about for Philly (and will continue to see them), with none comming to fruition. ------------------
Just a reminder of how NOT to run a franchise... In 2002-2003 the Sixers will have to pay the following: Geiger: $9.52 million Iverson: $12.375 million T. Hill: $9.638 million Ratliff: $8.8 million Kukoc: $7.6 million = $47.933 for five players and to think we actually complained about Cato's deal. Philly's gonna have to fill the rest of their roster with scrubs. ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
Oh sh*t! Look at the Blazers' salaries. The only difference is that their players are actually somewhat good save for some flat-nosed, overrated chump. Sabonis: $11.25 mill Smith: $8.1 mill Stoudamire: $11.25 mill Wallace: $12.6 mill Kemp: $11.72 mill Quitten: $13.75 mill D. Davis: $6 mill ---------------- GRAND TOTAL: $74.67 MILLION!!! Damn, they better win it all this year... ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
