Back with his running mate from GS Pietrus. <br> Barnes is a solid pick-up for Orlando, depending on what they paid for him
Another team improving their bench production. Orlando is retooling to make that final push however I still believe that either the Cavs or the Celtics would make it to the finals. It would be a crazy three team race for the Eastern Conference. Cavs, Celtics and Magic.
I wanted us to get Barnes a year or two ago. But not enough that ***** with Rafer, hated him ever since. Punk.
I thought it said somewhere that Orl was interested in Von Wafer at some point recently. I wonder if that means they are passing on him or was he never in the mix?
...Just how much over the cap are Orlando and LA anyways? Both teams look like they're going all out now, and forget the consequences of later - it's quite stunning.
Yes, but remember they lost hedo and lee. pietrus probably starts and barnes will fill the athletic swingmen role off the bench that pietrus handled in the postseason.
With Rashard's versatility, Pietrus/Bass/Barnes can compete for that open starting spot. Should be interesting to see who gets it.
matching Gortat's deal put them way over the LT, but he was a restricted free agent. they still had the MLE after signing Gortat.. they signed Bass for 4yrs-18MIL.. so they still have some of the MLE to sign Barnes.
All seems a terrible waste when they aren't going to beat Boston, probably CLE and certainly not a few teams in the West even if they did make the Finals again by a miracle.
Good pick up for Orlando. He can play some PF and brings a bit of toughness that squad was sorely lacking.
Definitely, They are the third best team in the East. Their moves would help barring injuries to them and to the other team. However, I do not see them reaching the Eastern conference Finals.
