Put your Matrix Reviews here The only theater in town sold out, so all of us are making a road trip to studio 30. Getting ready to go in the next hour. I know there's a lot of Matrix threads, but I think this one is specific enough. To start it off, I'll put a link to Roger Ebert's review. I'm not reading this because I want to be surprised as much as possible. http://www.suntimes.com/output/ebert1/cst-ftr-matrix14f.html I am just so freakin pumped (and drunk).
I imagine watching the Matrix movie will be like looking into the face of God, and having him smile back and say, "You are my most wonderous creation." In other words, "Scrumptrillecent".
I am witholding judgement until I see the movie, but does anyone else have a problem with some of the computer animated action scenes that will appear in the new Matrix? Watching the previews, some of the effects look kind of silly. Computer animation has been unable to succesfully create humans as of yet. Currently, it's still easy for the viewer to tell the difference between computer-animated people and real people, and this seems to be the case with the new Matrix. Part of what was cool about the first Matrix is that it looked so real! People could do all sorts of crazy **** in the movie and it didn't look fake. As far as I know, I don't think the first one used any computer animation to create an entire person during an action scene. From what I've seen of the new one, this isn't the case. I don't know...after the first one, it just seems kind of like a ripoff to me. Then again, I think I was the only person in here to say a single negative thing about X-Men 2, so maybe I'm just a griping, grumpy b****.
I won't go that far, but I have heard that there is too much action (is that possible) and not enough of a balance with the science fiction part of the story. I hope that is not the case, but will certainly enjoy the movie regardless.
Oh my...there are no words. It was so amazing. They threw in so many twists that I couldn't possibly have expected. And the fight against the 100s of Agent Smiths that we all saw in the trailers? The most amazing fight sequence I have ever had the priviledge to view. On a side note, I was really surprised by how many people didn't know to stay through the credits for the Revolutions trailer. Be forewarned, however, PAY FREAKING ATTENTION. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how all the relationships work here and I think I'm going to have to see it again (maybe several more times ) just to work out all the new info that was revealed in this movie. They have really set up some interesting conflicts for the final chapter. I can't wait.
two words accurately describe The Matrix: Reloaded. they are HOLY and ****. absolutely amazing. easily lived up to the hype and probably surpassed my expectations going in. fight scenes great, the 100 agent smith thing, awesome. so many other things, awesome. great twists everywhere. so amazing. currently thinking if it's my favorite movie ever, it just might be. and i was not a huge matrix I geek or anything. i saw it on tnt and that was about it. this was unbelievable. thanks to my friends for hooking me up with the 10 o'clock showing tickets. awesome.
I really hate you rat SOB's that saw it already!!! I have to wait until tomorrow and then I am seeing it Friday again.
Yeah right. Going in I said it better be top five movie of all time or I would be grealy dissapointed. Safe to say, I am not even remotely dissapointed. Action scenes are the best for any movie I have EVER seen. Story line is excellent; though a little too confusing. Some parts to me sounded like "Blah blah blah, and blah blah blah blah, oh yeah, blah blah blah blah blah. okay okay, blah blah blah." Right after I got out the movie I went to Walmart to buy the soundtrack. Music is definitely top three of all time.
Overall, I thought it was really good; though after the first five or so minutes, many of the fight scenes did get kind of boring. Call me a girl if you wish, but after a while they just got old. Ever eat too much fudge? Starts off great, but after a while you get sick. Same basic thing. Now I don't want to completely bash the film; (because in reality, I did like it a lot) it was well done. The special effects were great; and the storyline, as Raven mentioned, was fantastic, though a bit hard to follow.
It was SOOOO slow at first...picked up though. This is kinda a transition movie, explained a lot of things, but left a lot of things unexplained too. I was let down a little bit, but it still blows anything else out of the water. The ending was hilarious.
I agree with everybody on her, I simply loved the movie. It was a bit confusing which is why I may need to watch it again. Also, a couple of friends told me that some of the Animatrix episodes have some tie into this. I too stayed to watch the Reloaded trailer, and damn, I cant wait 6 months from now, I need to KNOW NOW!!!! On a side note, I was at the Studio 30 10pm showing and were any of yall were in Theater 15? Before the show, there was this one dumbass that was doing cartwheels in front of the screen, then later did back flips off the wall. Whats funny is that they guy was sitting RIGHT NEXT TO ME. After he did his entertainment, he was running to his seat to my suprise he was next to me, too funny to forget. If yall saw a dude with a Blue Nike cap next to him, that was me.
Dave - go watch the Animatrix now. The first four episodes are available for free now and the other 5 (a total of 9) are coming out to dvd on June 3rd. The first four are by the Wachowski Bros. They are very cool. Especially the Second Renaissance episodes (Part 1 and 2). http://www.intothematrix.com
I forgot about the Revolutions trailer!!! AHHHH! I donno, I was kind of disappointed. The burly brawl didn't look as good as it was hyped up to be. It was too fake looking. **SPOILERS** The whole scene at the end with the architect was just too much information, a little too dense. I donno, I guess I don't absorb much at 2:30 in the morning. Kind of wished they stopped right before Neo enters the source. Could someone explain to me, the door that Neo chose, was that the same choice that occurred during last 6 matrix's? Or did "the one" choose the other door, and the salvation of Zion? So what do people think? I'm guessing that there are two matrix's. The one we know is the inner matrix and the outer matrix is where Zion is in. That would explain how Neo was able to stop the squigglies, and how the computer virus (smith) is able to survive in that rebels body.
Most people I spoke to thought that Detective Story and the Second Renaissance pt2 where excellent. You should go watch them now.
Dave2000: He was also in theater 16. Was stupid in my opinion. About the movie: I was truly impressed. Yes there were stupid things in it, but all in all, it had a premise that I wasn't expecting. I can't give a verdict yet on it as a whole until I see the last one. But this movie is a definite must see. and my favorites are the Smith scene and the Semi scene. Unbelieveable!
so should someone whip up a matrix: spoilers thread to explain any confusing stuff or should we just include it in here? cuz i also wanna know if he chose different or not (although i'm pretty sure he did) and other stuff but i don't wanna ruin possibly the greatest movie ever for anyone else and i'm too lazy and my compute is too slow to be starting threads. there was some tough stuff to figure out in the architect scene, probably stuff i don't even remember that i didn't get.
