I read the NBA Rockets' page on our players' younger days. Surprsingly, most of the current Rockets' favourite subject as a kid is Math. I like Math too. Most of my friend who don't like basketball don't like math/science. Is that true too with you guys? Any one has an explanation? (Sorry for opening another thread here, but the NBA board is really quiet. This board is quieter too since last week.) ------------------
well, i don't have an explanation, but my best subject was math, and i did win a Hoop-It-Up championship ------------------
I have a deep appreciation for math, but I'm not very good at it nor was it ever a favorite subject. Of course, I'm not that good a ball player either. My wife is very good at math and has always liked the subject best, but can't play ball worth a damn. Among my friends, the best ball player was also bad at math, but then he was bad at every other subject as well and dropped out of high school. So no, I can't explain it. ------------------ RealGM Gafford Art Artisan Cakes
Do people who like math/science tend to like basketball more than other sports? I asked because I also met many peopl who like soccer, and who aren't as good in math as basketball people. I do see many engineers prefer basketball. ------------------
Not uncommon, most men do well in math from what've heard. I woudn't dare try to be math major though. I can tell you that. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
