Don't know if there is athread bout this yet, but espn insider is reporting Hawks are looking for a pg, and have made Marvin Williams available.
Hawks should have done this in 2005. They are 6 years late. CP3, D-Will anyone? They will never live down that mistake; it will haunt them forever. They compounded it by re-signing Williams to a stupid contract.
You think they regret passing on Chris Paul and Deron Williams and taking him instead? And they compound the mistake by giving him a questionable rather expensive extension.
I actually think Brooks would thrive in ATL, but I agree, I'd only be interested in Josh Smith at this point...
I follow the Hawks almost as closely as I follow the Rockets. Believe me when I tell you: STAY AWAY. He basically got paid and stopped caring. He routinely goes through periods where he completely disappears when out there. Given that we have a team full of parts and no machine, adding another expensive 'part' to the mix isn't gonna do us any good.
Correct, it is definitely a stretch to think of Marvin Williams at PF. He's better than Stromile Swift but you are on the right track. B4L follows the Hawks more than anyone else here. Listen to him.
I'm with B4L on this one. Stay away from Marvin Williams. Unless of course he's part of a deal to bring in someone like Josh Smith or Al Horford.
Josh Smith needs to be traded so the Hawks can get a C and move Horford to PF. Smith cannot play SF well in the NBA.
I will never understand this. ANY PF that shows up people would love to move Scola for him. Scola is ridiculous good for his contract. His D leaves much to be desired, but you aren't getting much outside a bad contract from Smith. Smith is uber flashy, but honestly his bball IQ leaves a lot to be desired. I mean unless the Rockets are getting someone w/ height, or a very solid player in some multiway deal, there aren't many PF that are available that are worth giving Scola away for. If the Rockets can just get a center that can block out the paint aka get boards + block/intimidate (a young Deke, would be perfect), the problems on D that Martin/Scola present would be lessened greatly and the Rockets would be A LOT better. Imagine this team being able to score 104 points/game and NOT give up 3 digits, would make this team a whole lot better.
I live in ATL and thus i watch the Hawks. You don't want Marvin on this team. His effort is questionable.
