I get the feeling that moochie is a good lockerroom guy... wearing eddie and walt armbands lord knows i'm no moochie fan, the guy has "5,4,3,2,1" syndrome... i mean yeah it's great to hit the shot as the clock goes off but he should really wait until the end of the game for that mess instead of the middle of the third quarter... Sorry for the tangent but this seems to be my thread anyway lol btw don't mind the no-pointed-ness of this post i'm babbling but as for me Kato has shown me some real flashes of brillance I don't think you can get full value for him so i'd keep him... maybe he and mobley will become best friends and he'll work out all summer... uh yeah
As someone from Golden State, I am curious why you would want donyell... he is a good player to have alongside a low-post PF like Thomas (especially since Marshall is long and can hang out on the perimeter), but he isn't a good defender (is long and can block shots from the weakside though) and is mostly a perimeter player. Basically, an older , more expensive version of Eddie, or a dumber version of Walt. Better to focus on getting a better defensive player, especially a better team defender...
NewRoxFan where in the bay? I live in Saratoga. Anyhow very few people like Donyell I can't figure it out. He in my opinion is 2x the player that Jamison is. Why? Because he knows his limitations, doesn't try to do something he's not good at, is not a whiner, and is a team player. Marshall although a weak one on one defender is a great weak side helper like you mentioned, and has a VERY underrated low post game. He can hit that baby hook almost automaticly. He is a GREAT rebounding 3 and can drain the three. His knocks are that he doesn't show much emotion, can't defend one on one, and is overpayed. Well he is a free-agent next year and if he could come here for 3-4 years at 3-4 mill per I would do it in a heart beat. I used to have season tix for the Warriors and Donyell along with Tony Delk and Foyle were my favorite players. They were the only guys that wanted to win and actually tried to win. Sprewell wanted to win but wanted to be the man at the same time. Anyhow... Maybe we can hook up for some Warrior basketball. I loved how they were blasting their comercials all over the place right after they got Dean Garrett
Scarface, I *used* to live in Fremont. Followed the Warriors for over 30 years (all the way back to the Mieuli/Attles/Thurmond/LaRusso days). The last eight years (aka "The Wrath of Cohan") have been too painful, and after trying to hang on after moving to The Woodlands almost two years ago I have switched my allegiance to the Rockets. Marshall was a better forward than most Warrior fans give him credit for, but most of their dissatisfaction with him stemmed more from how he was acquired (Webber, via Googs) but some was from his own minimal work ethic. He was good alongside Jamison (who most Warrior fans now see has many of Marshall's faults... poor defensive effort) since they complemented each other's skills (donyell can handle the ball and shoot from the outside; AJ can score in the post). donyell would also be able to defend the larger forward on the opposition... AJ can't really defend eaither forward spot. Early on Marshall was called Onyell because he had no "D" in his game; later he became donyell since he played a little "d." He looks good alongside Malone, but note the foreign rookie mostly puts up the same numbers. I might be able to play forward alongside Malone. Used to mountain bike in the hills above Saratoga (Saratoga Gap, Long Ridge, Black Mountain, Saratoga Canyon) among other places. One of the things I miss since moving here (all the great places to MTB). I used to be active in ROMP, and spent the time I wasn't MTBing fighting for access, including battling MROSD on trail closures out there. Apologies for the parly OT post...
I think he'd be a good fit for this team. He seems to always play well against the Rocks and he seems to have a pretty complete offensive game. If he came at the right price I would like to see the Rocks go for him.
He was traded to the Jazz, its a big difference between being drafted or traded there and signing there. Signing there means you like to flop and your a sissy. Getting traded there is a whole different matter. NewRoxFan: I used to live in Fremont when I first moved to California. I used to run up Mission peak but then I started getting lazy, and decided a gym is better because there are more girls.
Scarface, I used to ride up Mission Peak from my house in Warm Springs. Even pulled my daughter in a Burley trailer part way up once in a while. Poeple would see me chugging up the hill pulling my trailer and think I was crazy. Better than any gym workout (but you are right, the women opportunities at a gym would be better, especially compared to that Burley trailer). I wouldn't be opposed to getting Marshall, but his contract is pretty expensive for a "role player" here. Especially carrying Rice's contract a few more years.
