Marquis Daniels could quite possibly be in a spot to get signed by the Houston Rockets. This season Daniels signed a minimum salary contract to the Mavs, so he could probablly signed for a pretty reasonable price. Plus, he really showed this past season even getting more PT than Josh Howard! He is a great ball handler who can drive the lane. I really think Marquis could be the next Rockets guard.

Also I believe Steve, Mo, and a 2005 1st round pick will possibly get traded to Orlando for T-Mac and Gooden and hopefully a 2004 second round pick.

    starting line up

    PG- Marquis Daniels
    SG- Tracy McGrady
SF- Boki and J.J. split time
    PF- Gooden
    C- Yao

    How good would this be?!?!?!?!

how is having Gooden help this team. Gooden is a slow, not so atheletic powerfowards without a consitent jumper. He is a crazy ball hog.
Marquis Daniel is overrated.. he has some game in him but he benefits from having 4 other all stars at the same time on the court.

Marquis Daniels is going to be a star in this league. We'd be lucky to have him. Andrei Kirilenko and Tony Parker have achieved All-Star caliber status before any one believed they would. So will Daniels.

So is that Shandon Anderson, he's an unheralded young swingman who can really do things, play defense, shoot the 3, run the floor....

    ...oh wait, this isn't 1998.

    Anderson 97-98 Uth 82 8 19.5 3.3-6.1 .538 0.1-0.4 .219 1.7-2.3 .735 0.8 0.2 1.1 1.8 0.0 1.0 1.7 2.7 1.1 8.3

    Daniels 03-04 Dal 56 15 18.6 3.6-7.3 .494 0.2-0.6 .306 1.1-1.4 .769 0.9 0.2 0.8 0.9 0.0 1.2 1.4 2.6 2.1 8.5

I don't even have to describe what the categories are, they're so similar!

Yeah and? Where did I bring up Shandon Anderson? Please cut-and-paste a post where I said that Anderson would become a star? Daniels and Anderson are two different people right? Or did I miss something?

By the way, my prediction on Daniels comes from my personal opinion of his play on the court and my own personal evaluation. If you don't belive it. Don't. But, time will tell regardless of the "apples and oranges" stats you post.

    Wow, quite defensive.

Relax, I don't blame you for the Shandon Anderson signing.

You did say that Marquis Daniels is going to become "a star in this league".

What I see is a swingman who put up decent numbers in limited minutes as a roleplayer on a decent team....in the same manner as Shandon Anderson, statistically and otherwise.

"Star" isn't the first word that comes to mind when I think of Shandon Anderson.

"a star in this league," huh?

    I'll hold you to that.

He's way better than Shandon (that should be an obvious position). And yes, you can certainly hold me to that.

    Recorded a career-high 26 points (11-16 FG, 4-4 FT) and 6 rebounds in a 108-93 win over the Toronto Raptors on 3/3

Scored 21 points and grabbed a career-high 9 rebounds against the L.A. Lakers on 10/31

That's all that's listed. I don't think he played that many minutes.

I know Daniels has had a few, but weren't those mostly in April garbage-time games?

Sam, please take a look at the minutes column. Although, off the bench minutes. Not necessarily "garbage-time."

What hasn't been addressed in this thread is that Daniels is not a PG. I'm tired of having psuedo point guards.
