Jackson goes to the Knicks and Charlie Ward goes to the Raptors. Yep.

Its not Ward, it is Chris Childs and Number one pick.

I wonder how Chris Childs is going to fit. That's going to be a rough adjustment with a different point guard. I think Toronto may have jeopardized their playoff spot. They're 7th right now. Indiana's 3 1/2 games behind, Boston four.

I wonder how Vince Cocky feels about all this.

Sorry Smeg didn't see it. And thanks for correcting me Francis3. I just saw on TBS that also invloved in that deal was Muggsy Bogues to NY.

Was Glen Grunwald drunk when he made this deal?
This came as a total shock; Jackson was liking it in Raptorland and was fitting in nicely. This deal came from way out of left-field. I just don't see the logic behind this one from the Raptors perspective.

The Knicks just got a heck of a lot tougher today.

They say Canadian Beer is pretty good . . .

But I'd wager that Toronto has officially waved the white flag and VC is gonna spend some serious time on the IR resting his "jumper's knee", and figuring their season was lost, decided to set up for next year.

I can't figure out Toronto. First they trade away their veteran PG, that's doing a great job running the offense for a veteran PG that can't even win a PG slot on a team desperate for a PG and is overpaid. Not enough a free agent.

Then they pick up a nice player in JYD that will help them a lot, loading up their frontcourt with Stewart, Montross, Oakley, Davis, Clark, and now JYD. Don't they have N'Diaye (injured) too?

I was surprised to hear Mark Jackson got traded at first, but then something struck me. Vince Carter and Alvin Williams are good friends, and Carter has publicly voiced how Williams is underrated and has done a great job of running the team when he was in there.Maybe Carter likes playing with Alvin more? Maybe Jackson was the leader of the veterans(oakley, davis) who criticized Vince and he took offense to it. People have gotten on Carter because we don't see him in the highlights as much, and maybe that's because he and Jackson just have no chemistry on the court.

I believe the Raptors are going to struggle from here on out to make the playoffs. They need Mark Jackson running the offense, just like Indiana needed him last year. You see how Indy is struggling w/out him, and I think Toronto will do the same. Vince may like Williams better, but he won't be near as important to that team as Jackson was. On the other hand, they gained a big rebounder who can spark some fast breaks so maybe they are looking to run more. Who knows...but I think overall they did not improve their team.

Getting Mark Jackson at the point guard spot makes the Knicks a very dangerous team that is capable of winning the Eastern Conference finals despite the addition of Mutumbo to the 76ers.I think the 76ers might have some problems becuse of limited playoff experience.Alvin Williams is quicker than Jackson and is playing well but Mark Jackson is a far superior player.Chris Childs will not be able to overcome the loss of Jackson.Toronto is in great danger of losing a playoff spot, and if they don't make it to the playoffs this year than the chances of Vince Carter leaving Canada might increase.

This trade makes the knicks a lot better, but not good enough to be the 76ers.

I think that the 76ers got the raw end of the deal in their trade.

Ratliff is as good a defensive player, better scorer(has jump hook and jump shot out to 18), and trail a little in rebounding.

Mutumbo is counted on to rebound with lorenzen Wright being the only other stable big man.

Ratliff has Hill, Geiger(occasionally), Mohommad, Jones, and Lynch(The latter two are excellent rebounding Small Forwards.

Not to mention that Ratliff has more years left in the league than Mutumbo.
