I just didnt want to start a new thread with the name "Mo Taylor". According to newpapers, Jackson has agreed to sign with Raptors. Toronto denied the deal was done, but Jackson was quoted as saying that "its a no brainer" signing with Raptors for 4yrs. 14million. So what all these means is that Maurice should be deciding between Sonics and Rockets any time now.

Ok Fun Boy, take it to the NBA forum!

BTW, I'm kinda shocked that Indiana let him go. It looks like the Pacers have conceded the title of best team in the east to Miami....at least on paper. [IMG]

Unfortunately, Taylor won't be deciding until next week according to the Seattle Times. Also, they said that if Taylor signs for the exception, most likely it will be in Houston, as we have cap room after next summer. The only way Seattle could pull off a deal is via sign and trade, and the Clippers have been unwilling to trade all summer, so why would they want Seattle's trash? (Mad Max, etc.) Sounds like he's coming...

And he also shot 1-11 in another game. Few teams want an older player like Max who has a bad knee, shoots too much, and is a terrible character guy in the locker room. Is that the kind of guy the Clippers would want around their young players, especially since they already have so many swingmen?

Damn Mo its not that hard. Sign on the
dotted line with the Rockets. The one team that scares me is Indiana. I think they may
make a run at him with that damn exception.

Hey Cat, I read that article in the Seattle Times too and if you read it carefully, to me it sounds as if Mo Taylor already visited with the Sonics last week. It does say last week(it could be an error though). If it is accurate though, that means he already visited them last week and that Houston was his most recent visit. I think he makes his mind up between today and Sunday.

I read that too, but I think it was a misprint. The Chronicle said that he was visiting the Sonics on this Thursday, and so did a lot of other media places online. I think he'll make up his mind soon also, and based on what I've read, it sounds like Mo will come here.

I think there is still some posturing going on between Falk, the Rockets and several other teams. Has anyone considered this as a possibility? Wasn't it not so long ago that Orlando was trying to do what they could to get there hands on Mo. If i remember correctly, they did not quite have enough cap room to take a shot at him. we still have that silly old trade exception too..<g> Hmmm.... what would be the rules, and dates if we were to go ahead and sign taylor to that 1 yr. deal. Could we do a sign and trade with orlando in the 72 hr period following Houston signing Mo because it is only a 1 yr deal, or would we have to wait till Dec.? If we decided to send Mo to Orlando whether we could do it sooner or later, who would be the ideal player or players to ask for from the Magic. If the date that we couldn't trade Mo until was sometime in Dec. that would give us time to evaluate his progress and to see if he is indeed a good fit. What are some thoughts on this?

There really aren't a whole lot of options on the Magic. We would I think have to wait until December 15 if I'm correct. I know about half the board is about to flood this board about getting Bo Outlaw for Taylor, but I can sum up my thoughts on that idea with one word: NO.

The only team that can sign and trade him are the Clippers. We'd have to wait till Dec. 15 to trade him.

In another note, I checked some things out, if Mo signs with us for the 2.25 exception, he'll be a BYC player.

If we were to get him in a sign and trade (for the trade exception, 4.5 mill), he wouldn't be. Strange, isn't it?

I think you will find that Rose is there point guard mainly. I think that's why Jackson has left. Rose made it fairly clear he wanted big minutes at the point before he re-signed.

The fact that he re-signed fairly easily (ie...not drawn out / no squabbling) suggests that they have given him a guarantee.
