    Guys,

Last night I emailed Mark Cuban on a lark to tell him that I appreciated his efforts to work on the referee problems in the league. He actually emailed me BACK!

He said that he visits ClutchCity.net ALL THE TIME and that it is a great site. He said if anyone agrees with him, they should call the Rockets office and ask them to support his efforts in reforming the officiating in the NBA.

The fact is that the NBA does not respect the fans' opinions on the game. They don't believe we have the knowledge of the game to see what is wrong with the officiating. Most teams, coaches and players won't say anything because the fines are too much but not for Cuban.

Personally, I hope what Cuban does works. I'm happy to see someone like him doing what he is doing because he may be the only one the league will listen to.

Just thought you guys would like to know that in light of the awful calls in Utah tonight.

    Again, Jeff,

    you the man!!

will notify the team of my displeasure immediately. I think Cuban is the greatest thing since, well sliced bread I guess.

and Mark, If your reading the thread with your name in it, I thought I might want to ask you to look into supporting major league soccer. Especially the Dallas tream could use some help. your fervered support of your mavs is refreshing and makes the league better.

damn this is a weak post

    PEACE

When the Rockets played the Mavs here last year, on a lark I emailed Mark Cuban for tickets, and damned if he didn't answer me and help me at the last minute. Even told him I was a Rockets fan!! He is a cool guy and hates bureaucracies and the establishment who are afraid to look in the mirror.

To date, all the other owners have simply left him twisting in the wind regarding his efforts to improve officiating. That says a lot about the power structure in the NBA.

Wow that is really impressive that an owner would email you back. I think that says a lot about Mark, Name one other owner that would take time to write another fan, let alone a fan of another team. I just gained a little more respect for mark. Now if he would just give me a few $$ I might become a Mavs fan. . . . :D

    That's pretty cool, Jeff...

Cuban gets a lot of heat, but he's not crazy, he's just a real fan!

--Hang on we just took the lead!--

It's pretty sad to hear that the league doesn't care about fan's opinions. It's popular to say that that most of the revenue comes from television packages and sponsoring corporations, but when it comes down to it, the fans are what keeps the league in business.

As has probably been posted hundreds of times before, the best games are the ones where the officials let the players play. I know that these guys are human, so I understand blown calls. But calls like tonight? I know that we are not the only team that has these problems.

We always hear about how the players today are the cause of the leagues' woes. How come nobody is blaming the league themselves?

I am so sick of hearing that the veterans get the calls. Or things like "rookie calls". What's the difference, really? Why do we know all the names of the "great refs"? A great ref in my book is one I hardly notice is there. If they can't get the calls right, then add a ref off the court, instead of changing every other aspect of the game. Or how about instant replay? I don't understand the logic of a referee that never makes a mistake...

Jeff, you helped Save our Rockets- are you ready to help Save our Game? How about CC sponsoring a movement? Maybe an open letter, petition, or template that those of us that aren't as well written (like myself) can use to express ourselves to the NBA?

I hate to say it, but find myself somewhat agreeing with Clutch somewhat. I too, am starting to get sick of NBA basketball...

Told you guys Mark Cuban was a class act. He's a great guy, he'll return phone calls, e-mails anything. And he hates the officials, what is better? Besides, anybody who can annoy David Stern and Peter Vescey is a saint in my book. I'm definitely supporting him on this, the officials are horrible in NBA basketball AND NFL football!

Throughout the season and especially tonight it has been obvious that the officiating needs retooling. With game after game being affected, even to the point of changing the decision. It is no longer a contest of who will play better, but which team will receive the calls. Mark, you have my support.

If I may ask, how do you email Mark Cuban? I would love to email him and thank him for his efforts to improve officiating as well. And maybe ask him if he intended to have his analysts make the research data public.

Said it before, I'll say it again. I would kill to have Mark Cuban own the Nugs. I still remember, the Nugs were for sale (the first time, before the disaster of numerous ownerships owning the team at one time) and one local writer speculated Cuban might be interested.

Naturally, Denver wasn't that lucky. Ugh.

This sounds legitimately productive. Could someone with the information or ambition post the phone number to the Rockets office.

I would definitely call and be very professional about it too.
